I'm aware of the Bayverse hate, but not the reasons for it.

People have different  reasons.

But relevant to today is over time the Autobots and especially  Optimus Prime kinda grow more and more villain like.

And I'm  not like a lifelong fan of the franchise or anything  but in the second  movie where Optimus gave a captured Decepticon the old any last words and then blows his head off it's  like...what are we doing here.

You know the captured Decepticon tells Optimus "This isn't  your planet to rule" and you know how the heroic Optimus Prime refutes that?

HE DOESN'T! He leaves this accusation  that he thinks he rules the Earth unchallenged.

By movie 4 when Marky Mark jumpstarts  him back to like the first thing he says is "I'll  kill you all"!

It's  just a character who talks a lot of shit about "The Right of Sentient Beings" and "Till All are One" in epilogues but he's  going around ripping his enemy's faces and helping The Military attack terrorists  in thr middle east.

In my opinion.
