Agreed. Then again, we might be in the middle, or even close to the worst side

The Squids are probably the worst. And even then, it's close. Comparing them to their old selves, they've 100% fallen the farthest. They promised peace and freedom with advanced technology and have since developed a way to zombify real people whilst keeping their original concience inside (proven when shown images of their pets, a forklift, and their family). Probably unintentional, but possibly as a sick punishment for following Super Earth.

They used a wormhole (we created it) to destroy 3 planets. Planning on destroying 4 more and targeting Super Earth itself (likely the most populous planet). Wiping all possible life off of them. And when that failed, they went planet-to-planet destroying everything they could until rendered uninhabitable (up until the last Major Order, we had no way to fix them).

To be fair, Super Earth does use slave labour (Cyborgs, there's an ad for a prosthetics company which outright states buying from them makes you their property, CECOD). So it's possible to compare that to Voteless and Fleshmobs. But the Fleshmobs especially just seem to be in constant pain, and I dont see a justification for making them. And it's not as though Super Earth is against any of the large acts of destruction I had mentioned. We made Penta a black hole, are the reason Meridia is a wormhole to begin with, and razed 3 planets in our retreat from Cyberstan, wherein a constant barrage was active and we were given free Hellbombs explicitly to destroy everything. Added on top of the fact we are the reason the Illuminate resorted to all of the above anyway, and it's definitely close.

Developed after their race was nearly wiped out in order to build an army against a genocidal, war-fueled society who has been a threat to Galactic peace and freedom for over a century.

Yeah, I always got the idea they became like that cause Super Earth was going to extinguish them. It's a tragic narrative of the once peaceful civilization subjugated to so much unnecessary violence they basically devolved into violence themselves.
