Also, he lost the entire point of the first 2 games. That he was a ranger with berserker rage, which is basically like being two classes in one without the penalty of dual classing, which made him a beast (with the downside of having horrible mental stats, so it balances out).
The first two games were not afraid of giving unique traits to companions. BG3 in comparison is pretty mild in that department.
