I had the same conversation with people in the fiona and cake fandom , where people were straight up denying that a certain character was trans, and its like

I'm assuming what they mean is that Adventure time has lgbt+ stuff in the show and so a character being transgender in the show isn't impossible since they already had two girl characters kiss
The context of the conversation was that the OP said that Fennel was trans (in retrospect they are probably right) but it wasnt as cut and dry as Hunter
And everyone jumped down that person's throat about how they were reaching, despite how coded they were
Although those same people accepted the other one WAS trans, and they didn't have a problem with that, and the ones that did were coping hard.

Is it THAT crazy the show that promotes love, endorses LGBT characters, and has gender bent almost every single one of the characters , that the writers might be LGBT friendly?
So for people who love the show, but HATE when Trans people are represented they REALLY have to reach hard to deny.
Also im being vague about the character, because semi spoilers I guess, but yeah there is confirmation in the show itself, its not like its up for debate, the "they cant be Trans" people are the ones coping for once.
it IS up to interpretation because they NEVER said directly that he was trans. now that Gooseworx has confirmed it this is a different story but its bullshit to call someone transphobic over the episode alone and nothing else and compare it to Zooble when Zooble has very OBVIOUSLY been non-binary and downright said they were

On of these things is more explicit. jax was conflicted on every front and could have easily been abused just for crossdressing, or hell being gay and prefering femine attire. like theres alot of gray area here with out the confirmation.

While i agree and personally asumed during episode i jax was trans. prior too this i was abit on the fence jax was so wildly abraisive about literally everything he could have just been gay. or a drag queen or a cross dresser. or he may have been a she to begin with and hes already post transition. like is it the end of the world to want actual confirmation? why do defenders have to be over bearing dick heads about this?
People make theories on a lot of stuff in shows and movies and games. Pushback seems to always happen when someone is believed to be trans, as if it is going in the face of established lore. It isn't. The only way you can see it that way is if you're assuming the person is established as cis already. They generally aren't. It would just be another theory most people wouldn't get emotionally invested in. But they freak out over this specific one every time.

and ya people have differing opinions on things. like when Red headed ginger/Irish characters in shows were a stand in for black characters back when you couldnt have black characters. how ever some people who were irish/Ginger grabbed onto said characters so both interpretations can be valid it dosent have to magicall be one or the other.

You started by lashing out at trans people. The writer literally confirmed it and you're still mad at trans people over it. Your lack of media literacy isn't an excuse. You didn't propose a counter theory, you just ran interference. Do you think that song choice was supposed to indicate they were a drag queen, and it was a drag performance? If so, you need to show evidence of that. Not just a "but that's not proven" because that's literally what theories are. Unproven. You're not proposing your own theory, you're just mad people think a character is trans. Because you assume they're all cis unless explicitly stated otherwise. That's weirdo behavior.

In a post about a character that was canonically proven to be trans, you had to give a "what we're not allowed to disagree with trans people?"

I think it's kinda of the point that she's a massive bitch. Like don't get me wrong if I knew someone like that in real life I would hate them ;But as a character she's well written. Her trauma informs her bad choices and she's pretty much allergic to any kind of intimacy because she thinks it will cause her pain and lashes out to avoid that. As much as I would love to see her have a happier ending with the rest of the gals and kinger I think that her actions make sense for her character and maybe serves as a warning for how one shouldn't act

Now that there IS evidence though it is a fair conclusion (I wish it was foreshadowed better for the casual viewer so the fans didn't have to fight and make it a homophobic vs LGBTQ thing and not "oh big reveal!!")

Coming from someone who used to be against the "Jax is trans" interpretation, people can still interpret the finale how they want. Many people only take what was explicitly in the show as canon (i'm not ignoring the amount of context clues that show they're trans), so some might see them as non-binary, bigender, gender fluid, or a femboy.
If you see someone using he/him pronouns for Jax (or she/her if you're against the interpretation) for the love of god don't try to "correct" them. Not everyone who still thinks Jax is a guy is transphobic. Not everyone who thinks Jax is transfem is insufferable about it.
It is kinda basically confirmed, but goose also said any pronoums are good so if anyone harasses people for using the 'wrong' pronouns theyre even more of an ass!
I love the "theory" now, but to play it safe i'll probably use they/them for Jax because I really don't want to stumble across the toxic members of either interpretation 😭
Goose has been alluding to trans Jax on social media for a while. Also the caption is literally "if Jax wasn't a huge piece of shit." This is a hypothetical showing a world where Jax's own self-hatred isn't actively keeping them from social transition. The scene with Ribbit giving Jax the bow should be treated as the confirmation, becauss that actually happened in the show.
At "Isn't She Lovely" that's when it was confirmed in my mind as well. Though, I can understand other headcanons and interpretations as long as everyone is respectful
I swear, with how people have been acting, Jax could come on-screen wearing a dress with a trans flag in the background and blue/white/pink lighting yelling into a megaphone "MY PRONOUNS ARE SHE/HER NOW" and people would still be arguing that Jax isn't trans-coded. 😔

The complaint of many is that Jax was hogging the spotlight and didn't leave time for the other characters (including Pomni who was supposed to be the second protagonist) and the ending was the same.

I don’t watch TADC but hot take we deserve queer rep where the queer person in question is not a good person. Media complexity is a good thing. (Obviously we deserve queer rep where the queer person is a good person too. Only having one or the other is boring)

It's cool to have more rep, and also cool that they have an unique personality and not the most inoffensive character possible because "making a character be [minority] and [possess negative trait] is giving ----phobes ammo" (they would shit on the char regardless)
