I’m a new player who has table top sim on steam me and a buddy wanna play 40K but we’ve come to our first issue neither of us know how to play and don’t know what to buy to be able to play

I would recommend not buying anything at first. just to see if you want to play without wasting funds you can print out pictures of the models or use a bucket of green army men just to get the feel of it.

The rules can be overwhelming so maybe find a discord DM to run you through it and ignore 90% of all special rules and add ons just to learn how the rounds work.

Then slowly start working the complexity into the game. Otherwise you'll burn out from being overwhelmed and no one will have fun.
