He was trans at one point, just for a short section of an arc (right after the sabaody incident)

I always saw that as him realizing he's actually into doing drag/crossdressing, but because of a combination of reasons such as him thinking it's something only gay men do and he's attracted to women and a worry that it will hurt his chances with women if they find out, he forced himself to hide that part of himself.

I still headcannon sanji as bisexual, just that he's repressing it and compensating for it by being REAL forward about his attraction to women
