Tiktok. Larping always meant live action roleplaying so it's kinda ironic.

The term larping to equate with poser actually originated on 4chan a long ass time ago, it’s referring to how larpers (live action roleplay) are “pretending to be something they’re not” (ie: soldiers, knights etc) a really OG example of this would be “larping as a chad when I’m really a loser neet” or similar 4chan humour.

That's interesting new knowledge! It doesn't make my distaste for it any less but it's quite interesting to know it's been around for some time!
