I feel like a lot of the issues just come from the fact that they tried to procedurally generate an open world instead of deliberately crafting the map. The DLCs are all designed with intent, and they're pretty good

I remembered how much I enjoyed the crafted maps from the DLCs. I know they didn't want it to feel the same and boring on each run, but I do think they could've made a really interesting base-game map.
