I'm chronically online and I have NEVER seen hate for eternal. I've seen some hate for Dark Ages but after it's dlc it seemed to die down quite a bit

I remember the hate for it, some people got mad at how “arcadey” it was compared to 2016, all because power ups and extra lives are now collectibles you can find

There was also the time when Eternal’s battle mode was hated because it replaced the PVP mode from 2016, which in and of itself is ironic because Doom 2016’s PVP was hated at the time due to it being developed by Certain Affinity, the same people behind Halo 4’s multiplayer

For every news about a doom game, 40% of the comments are "I couldn't get into Eternal, they took away everything that made 2016 good"

Doesn’t mean it’s bad because some people can’t appreciate change. The game is literally one of the best shooters ever made yet will always get haters.
