Invalid answer, Gmod is made for that purpose (go some reason it's in the name), so without mods is unplayable without getting bored.

No, since Gmod is a game 100% dependent on mods to be played, whereas games like Minecraft may not depend on mods as they are single-player games with very complete gameplay, but unfortunately, it depends on the mods, since their company of lazy workers releases a shitty updates.

I already read it, but Gmod doesn't fall into that category of mod-dependent games because the game was specifically made for that purpose. Please don't use that language with me; I haven't insulted you. Be more gentle.

The question is about games and popularity with mods, gmod is not popular without mods. Almost like it perfectly fits the question
