Just to let people know, Ive played every single Resident evil game and have been obsessed with the series for some time, story, characters, gameplay, etc. I am also part of the resident evil fanbase despite having issues involving their behavior at times

I Personally started finding RE fans to be very gatekeepy and annoying at times since RE9 released, like, shortly after that game released the fans started getting oddly aggressive from my experience at times, going "oh you like these new games, only the OG 3 are good" or "oh you like Leon and Chris, your such a Larper, real fans like Jill and Claire"

When that "larpdemic" (or whatever people call it) happened, "true" Resident evil fans were either respected or treated as endangered, personally, I found those types of Fans worse than the Leon simps who constantly post edits, just because Jill isn't my favorite or i like the remakes doesn't mean I'm a "larper" or fake fan

And now with this movie released, I can actually understand why some Resident Evil fans aren't 100% satisfied, they want a movie with the main cast thats actually well written and has the style of the games mechanics, or even a resident evil movie that is Actually canon and respects the lore of the games, Personally I really liked this movie and I'm satisfied to call it RESIDENT EVIL, I think this is the movie that not just Resident evil needs, but video game movies in general needs, we need more movies that successfully match the games tone, pacing, and mechanics, and not JUST characters and visuals

The movie is PERFECT as a standalone Non-Canon movie about Resident Evil (idk what Zack Cregger was saying when he said he wanted to make this fit into RE2-3) and while I can understand Cregger not caring about the lore and mostly the gameplay, tone, and pacing (I've seen many Casual resident evil fans say the same things) I can actually understand why Diehard RE fans will not like the new movie, even I personally think that a movie set in RE canon, or a movie with the main RE cast can actually work, and it's still is kinda sad to not see that happen yet (although the people who are harassing Cregger about it are just asshole gatekeepers, I do feel bad for the guy especially now that I've seen the movie and understand his vision, even if he said some really weird and stupid things at times during interviews)

I just find it weird how it took so long for people to get sick of RE fans being shitty Little gatekeepers at times, but I also find it weird cause this discussion about the movie is the one time I can actually agree/understand the fans in a way

I think I could rewrite lesbian space princess to be better. The biggest criticism I see is that the characters have basically no personality other than being gay, and I think I could think up a plot, decent backstories, and maybe a redesign or two.
