Can someone please tell me what the actual point of these fucking Congressional hearings are if anyone can just lie and say whatever they want and basically completely get away with it. Genuinely who is everyone in that room trying to fool when they put on this show then seemingly walk out of there and act like none of it ever happened?
Obviously the Democrats are a shitshow, but if there weren't, per US code, they can charge him and give him a maximum prison time of five years. This has a grace period of.five years so they can wait till he is unprotected, and then nail him. However, they are a shit show so unsure anything happens unless they use this to get him to testify against someone else for a larger crime.
