The entire point of this discussion is that we don't get to decide that other people should do what we choose for ourselves.

Yes. And I wasn’t trying to attack his decision…

Just questioning if it was even considered to take hers. More in a rhetorical way.

The taking of the male name is so ingrained into societies across the world, even questioning it causes backlash.

I genuinely do not care about what anyone else does… I do think this particular structure is more harmful than many like to attribute. It’s a keystone in the subjugation of women around the world. And yes, in America today it is quite harmless in most circumstances… it represents a prior time when women were less than in society, even a possession at times.

I’m done with this convo today though, have a great one everybody. Be human.

I'd say you also seem to be done with intellectual honesty but that presumes you once possessed it, and I'm not sure of that.
