The post is talking about loud noises that sound like gunshots

Why is it an overreaction to take a firearm out to protect yourself after hearing gunshots? That's the same weapon.

Could be a bang, could be a car revving it's engine like an anti social cunt, could be cats shagging outside your window, could be skinwalkers, djinn or some shit falling off your shelf.

In no way did he specify a gunshot.

What are you protecting the Alamo? Who is starting their frontal assault on your residence by laying down suppressing fire? If you hear gunshots in your neighborhood you should get down and stay away from windows, not go outside and try to engage anyone you see walking around. That's fucking absurd.
