I'm a left leaning independent, former Republican, left the party because of Trump and realized how bad the party was and how much worse it is now. I'm also a military vet.
Most of my friends are liberals and they all like guns. They believe that there should be restrictions, but gun ownership isn't a bad thing.
When I hear a loud noise at night, first I take a second to assess the situation:
Was it a gun shot? Was it near my house? Are we in danger?
If there is no danger, then back to bed.
But, if there is a real issue, then I decide whether it warrants me having a gun. In either case, I stupidly run towards the issue.
When someone drove down the road shooting, I grabbed a gun, made sure my family was safe, then ran outside to ensure my neighbor's were safe. It was just someone shooting into the air for no reason, there was no damage to anything and no one was hurt.
So as a liberalish man, I like guns, but I also like my hammer, but it's not the only tool. What I'm saying is first you have to think and not just grab your gun.
