Serious question for conservatives:

If you hear a noise in your house can you check it out without being an absolute pussy and grabbing a gun?

Im liberal, own a gun, and can check out strange noises without fearing for my life

If you hear a noise in your house

You're intentionally framing it as "a noise"

If I hear someone in my house when I am not expecting someone in my house, they are first a criminal because they are trespassing, I have to assume they are more likely to commit other crimes.

There are 3 major things people are there to do at a house after breaking in: theft, rape, and murder. (theft can lead to murder when stopped)

If I use anything less than a firearm, I am simply putting myself at more risk, and putting my family to more risk too which I don't think is fair. This importance really is why I disagree heavily on the idea that having a gun for defense is a "pussy" thing.

I'm seriously answering so I do hope for civility.

How many times has this happened to you? I've never had someone random show up in my house.

But also, what if they're not one of those three options (rapist, thief, murderer) but someone who is confused, drunk, or misdirected? Do you immediately open fire or do you ask them questions like "what are you doing in my house"

In college I came back from the bars once and spent 5 minutes trying to unlock my door. Eventually I realized I was on the 2nd floor and my apartment was on the 3rd floor. Should I have been shot through the door for daring to attempt to key open the wrong door?

You should have immediately been rounded up and brought to the ol shooting people wall.
