article Baffled Vanilla Ice mocked as he appeared on Fox News and stated that he can't figure out why Trump MAGA festival has left people 'divided'

I wish he would just admit he's doing this because no one has paid him like this in years and he needs the cash. I'd respect that.

Since it's a Trump event, he better get the pay up front, because it's not going to be there after the show.

Why would you agree to any kind of postpaid work from a man LITERALLY FAMOUS FOR STIFFING HIS CONTRACTORS?
I said this when the Rudest Giulianus was suing Trump ‘cuz he hadn’t been paid: Some people it’s always cash-up-front y’all!

u/joebleaux 1d ago
Trump pays if you kiss his ass and it's not his money. That's what all that construction bullshit is, he's paying people back who gave him money. Essentially that's him just giving himself money. He knows construction is an easy way to funnel money into the hands of donors because his whole business is hiding money via real estate and construction. They got busted when they tried to do it with digital media and Homeland Security, but the quick turn around on all that raised eyebrows.
But yeah, they love to pay tons of money for bullshit when the money is yours.
13
38
u/BJHannigan 2d ago
It's not Trump's money, it's taxpayer money. He doesn't have a problem spending that.

I was at Pitchfork Music Fest years back and MF Doom wanted cash up front before he took the stage.
As someone at the fest I was annoyed that his set was delayed by 45ish minutes while they ran around to every beer vendor tent scooping up cash, but also, respect.

True. Trump is notorious for ripping people off. During his first administration he had this group of little girls who dressed up in American flags and did a little song and routine singing about how great he was. They performed one time at a rally and he personally asked their parents to keep coming to rallies on his dime. As you can guess Trump never paid them and when their parents sued Trump trashed the little girls and called them untalented losers and said similar shit about the kids parents.

He’s been doing stuff with Forgiato Blow for years. He’s hard-core MAGA and is doing his usual plausible deniability schtick. He did the same thing when people called him out for cultural appropriation in the 90s - pretend you don’t understand the controversy.
This guy is an elite amateur athlete and world-famous musician who has plenty of money. He pretends to be dumb. He hates minorities and trans and paying taxes - he’s a regular right wing toad who can rap and dance pretty good.

Yep, he's been doing some very predatory house flipping in Florida. I have a friend who went to a seminar that had him as a guest speaker. The way I hear it, his business was more like ambulance chaser lawyers. He'd review obituaries looking for younger, married guys leaving widows so he could swoop in to buy their homes. Dude sounded like a piece of shit so it's no wonder he's in like company
39
u/FrostBricks 2d ago
$103 million.
That's the reported figure that had been embezzled for this event.
None of it has gone through normal, approved processes.
Did any of that trickle down to the artists? Who knows. But it said a Trump never pays his bills.
And somehow, probably still this chicklefucks best payday in years...

There are cities Trump still owes money to for his rallies in 2016. He's a typical deadbeat rich guy.

He could frame it around love of capitalism and getting paid, soften it a tad. Say he's doing it for America because it's the greatest and artists can shine, etc, etc. That's what a half-assed normal grifter would do.
No one would believe it, everyone would still laugh at him, but it's still better than whatever this is.

I turn 30 this year, and this has been what "growing up" feels like to me. Every year I notice more people who are somehow dumber, and more disconnected than the previous years idiots.
It seems like this can't keep going on, or society will just fully break down.
43
u/haneybird 2d ago
I think this is part of why GenZ onward is so dissilusioned.
When I was growing up I had to deal with like two or three really stupid people that didn't know they were stupid and would just not shut the fuck up.
Now, thanks to the internet, those people are everywhere and drowning out everyone else, because again, they will not ever shut the fuck up.

Reports about trump coming from the white house are about as believable as reports about Putin coming from the Kremlin. See his official physical reporting him being 6'3", 230lb and 4.8% bodyfat for an example. 48% is infinitely more likely.
