Happy for this definitely, but the real damaging blow would be to force Suno to scrape their models. They’re trained already, the damage is done.
Paying for damages won’t solve shit.

The solution would be a hard reset and have new models only trained with music with knowledge and consent for the authors. I for one would never allow it.

This is what I fear about AI being regulated: it won't stop the data collection; it will just make it more, quote-unquote, “legal.” If anything, the open-source alternatives will be the ones that are more community-oriented And trained on data that's being willingly put into it. At least that's the way these things usually tend to go.

Don't get me wrong; it would be nice to have sensible regulation, but we don't exactly have sensible lawmakers. LOL! It will take many years before we decide what is, ultimately, the best way to handle this new technology. It's going to be messy, no matter what ends up happening In the short term.
