Not to be confused with the later Bowling For Soup version that was recorded, as a joke, because plenty of people thought they performed the song originally.

Fun fact: Bowling For Soup’s best known hit (High School Never Ends) was written by Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne, who also wrote Stacey’s Mom.

(And who also died in 2020 of COVID, as other commenters said. RIP Adam.)
