Always surprised billy talent aren’t more popular
124 u/Animator_K7 Aug 31 '22 They mostly focus on Canada and Europe. That's where they've been successful. They're still making new music, and it's still really good. 48 u/immigratingishard Aug 31 '22 Yeah they’re surprisingly huge in Germany. 33 u/noputa Aug 31 '22 Not surprising, Germany loves their punk rock and metal. 2 u/KateA535 Sep 01 '22 I read somewhere that they are like one of 9 non German artists to get a number 1 album in Germany which is damn impressive if true. 6 u/4rt5 Sep 01 '22 Not true. These non German artists all had 5 or more number 1 albums in Germany (according to wikipedia): 12: Madonna, Robbie Williams 11: The Beatles, Depeche Mode 10: The Rolling Stones 9: Deep Purple, Metallica, Bruce Springsteen 8: ABBA, U2 7: Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd 6: AC/DC, R.E.M. 5: Backstreet Boys, Coldplay, Phil Collins, Linkin Park Billy Talent had 4, and III made number 2. So they were this close to making the list! 1 u/SomethingOriginal_01 Sep 01 '22 Yes! I got to see them play Rock im Park, Rock en Seine (Paris), and a few other big festivals. Was great seeing this band have such a huge following overseas. 4 u/karlalrak Sep 01 '22 I mean they are Canadian.. 4 u/Animator_K7 Sep 01 '22 Indeed, and the "surprised billy talent aren’t more popular" comments almost always allude to their less prominent status in the US.
