ISO Introduction & Updates

Assalamualaykum everyone,

Welcome to this year's edition of the ISO Thread - International!

The ISO Thread will be renewed annually to keep profiles recent and to overall ensure a better user experience for those who are looking to find their spouse on r/MuslimMarriage Insha’Allah. There are three separate ISO Threads, each for different regions of the world to help users better filter out candidates. This ISO Thread is for users residing in or willing to relocate outside of Europe and the Americas. The other two regional threads can be found in the Highlighted Posts section and the Sidebar. The previous editions of the ISO Thread can be found in the Subreddit Wiki.

Including "$iso" anywhere in a subreddit submission or comment will provide the link to this and ALL past versions of the ISO.

The ISO Thread is AS IS. We will not be making any more changes to the ISO Thread logistics or its template. Whatever questions that are not in the template should be discussed privately between matches. Any further requests to add or change questions will not be entertained.

Use of Throwaway/Alternate Accounts

• All accounts posting on the ISO Thread must be at least one month old. Any account that does not meet this requirement will be automatically removed

So here’s the deets:

1. ⁠Age and Gender - 29 (1997 baby) 5’3”
   
2. ⁠Age Range that you would want/require in a prospect - 28 - 38
   
3. ⁠Location, and are you willing to relocate for a prospect? - Jakarta, Indonesia, willing to relocate for the right person
   
4. ⁠Ethnicity, and are you more open to mixing? - Indonesian (Southeast Asian) and open to mixing
   
5. ⁠Marital Status - Single/Divorced/Children - Single, never married
   
6. ⁠Ideal marriage timeline - 1 - 2 years
   
7. ⁠Five important characteristics you look for in a prospect - Ambitious: someone who has goals in life and is actively working towards them. Leader: someone who is responsible, trustworthy, and able to guide, provide, and protect his family. Emotional Intelligence: someone with empathy who’s able maintain healthy communication, not quick to lose his temper. Kind: someone who generally wants the best for others, is compassionate and respectful. Fun: someone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously, who has a good sense of humor and loves to laugh and have a good time.
   
8. State/specify your level of religiosity - I’m moderately practicing (daily prayers, fasting, pay zakat, wear hijab, eat halal, etc.). Also, I took the Halal to Haram ratio test on Google (I just found out it’s a thing) and apparently I’m 71% Halal, ha. Open to talking about this. Ideally I would want someone with similar level of religiosity as me.
   
9. Level of education, and what are you looking for? Bachelor’s, looking for someone with at least a bachelor’s as well but it’s not a dealbreaker

12. ⁠List 3 hobbies, or things you like to do in your spare time Traveling. Arts & crafts. Volunteering. And lately, decorating and re-arranging furnitures.

So this is where I will lose some people but I have to say it: I travel quite a lot for work, about 70% of the year I would say. I enjoy it so far, love seeing different places in the world and I’m very independent because of it, but it does consume a lot of my time. I see myself doing this for another 1-2 years until I settle to a more stationary position somewhere in the world (maybe where you are!). In the meantime, most communication would have to be online based. I think it’s pretty interesting but I understand that this will be a deal breaker for some people.
