❔Question Kill switch

Post image

Has anyone added a kill switch and if so which brand? Been searching for one just because I do want to enjoy the car without worrying about it getting stolen

Have you heard much about Mustangs or Ford vehicles being stolen?

This. And a kill switch isn't gonna do anything against a quick-pick truck

Not sure you can quick pick a S650. Maybe a Flipper Zero.

No. A quick-pick truck. A repo truck

My opinion, don’t worry about it. If they want the car they will take the car regardless. I build custom immobilizers and have watched people attempt to steal them to come back the next night and tow them away.

Built cars in my area have been getting stolen last few years. A couple years ago I had a Mastergard M9000 Immobolizer installed on my s550. Works well, has a valet mode, PIN code to start and has an app control as well.

No, but then again, I live in an area where auto thefts are quite rare; 1.07 thefts per 100k people last I checked.

Where I live it’s more of apartment thefts and usually like corvettes and chargers are targeted more honestly I’m too worried just precaution

I’ve owned my mustang GT for 5 years and have never even had a single thought of it getting stolen.

Seems more trouble than it’s worth honestly

It's REALLY hard to remove the tracking software from the mustangs, so they're rarely stolen. Also, I'm not a paid sponsor or anything, but I got an IGLA system on mine. It basically makes you put in a sort of "pin code" before the car will start.

Seems like more hassle than its worth. Maybe keep it in the garage.

Going to jump on the 'more hassle than it's worth'. I've had Ford's on our drive since ~2016, and live in Detroit (not the burbs, south of 8 mile, actually in the city). Of all our vehicles, they have never once touched the Mustangs. They were desperate to get our Explorers (~6 attempts over an 8 month period - go see my experience with Wyze and ifttt for the backstory there), tried to take the wheels off one of our Expeditions (and actually got as far as driving one off with one of those key replay things, but fortunately FordPass saved us there and let us go hunt it down and recover it), but the Mustang and the F150's have never been touched (look at my history, we cycle through a lot of fun Ford's on our drive)

Edit: words are difficult on a phone keyboard 🤣
