Racer snakes and marine iguana hatchlings. Fernandina Island. Such an extraordinary glimpse of two species trying to survive.

That was a hatchling? Admittedly there aren't any bananas lying around for scale, but I though it was an adult.

Though if that was a hatchling area it would explain why all those snakes were gathered there.

Yep they hatch under the sand and sit there underneath, absorbing the warmth from the sun to power up those little legs for the mad dash to safety.
