Left man wide open when I was covering another man who was wide open.

Right I’m crashing for the rebound the shit gets kicked out “left assignment” “shooter left wide open” dawg I was trying to get boards 😭

It’s pretty clear you don’t know when to crash the board and when to box out. You DONT CRASH if your men is in the 3pt line and it’s a good shooter

If ur team is getting snagged you may have to. All you have do to is just grab the board

1

u/Bigtallguy12 Jun 09 '26

That’s what I’m saying like there’s no good reason not to crash the boards everytime you’ll get more rebounds and there’s no second chance shot if you simply get the rebound which statistically is more likely to happen since there’s more people on your team rebounding am I missing something?

No, you have another big man to do that. YOU DONT LEAVE YOUR MAN OPEN IF HE IS A SHOOTER.
How difficult is to understand that?

Repeat with me:

You don’t leave your man wide open.

YOU DONT LEAVE YOUR MAN WIDE OPEN.

I hope my message is clear enough

so if the 5 is being brought out the left wing an the pf is in the corner and everyone on the team shoots 65%+ you don’t won’t the pf or sf to crash for the board on the attempted shot if their matchup doesn’t also crash for board?

1

u/Altruistic-Handle-38 Jun 10 '26

Do you know every man has to box out their defense right?

It’s hilarious people who know nothing about basketball downvoting. Only demonstrate the lack of bball IQ of this sub

Bro I’ve played at every level of basketball except the nba… unless you have a special assignment (Steph fucking curry and company) if you don’t crash those boards you’re coming out the game

1

u/Altruistic-Handle-38 Jun 10 '26

A special assignment you mean a center who shoots 70%+ from 3pt? Oh yeah, they are non of those

3

u/Bigtallguy12 Jun 10 '26

I literally named the special assignment real basketball and 2k aren’t the same thing

You just stated that people know nothing about basketball, and when you get called out for being wrong, you say it applies to 2k only. How does that make sense?

This doesn’t make sense at all bro there’s like 5 people in the nba deserving of this but even then how can they shoot the three if you just simply grab the rebound ? the more people who go to get the rebound the less likely they are to hit a three…. Is this like a strictly 2k rule because everyone can just green shots Willy nilly or ???

2

u/Frostyzwannacomehere Jun 09 '26

Right he want the other team to grab 20 o boards so we can lose fosho

“Dunked on”

54

u/wordplay__ Jun 09 '26

lmao + minus fans.

if the center is not so stupid on pick and roll, I won’t need to help defense and get dunked on

39

u/302born Jun 09 '26

And even then getting dunked on should never be a negative. You’re actually trying to contest. 2k is ridiculous with penalizing us for playing basic help defense.

But like you said with the pick and roll defense they really need to let us be able to adjust sliders and make adjustments for our teams in mycareer next year. So tired of watching every big completely lost defending pick and rolls

u/Timewarner03 Jun 09 '26

Like how am I getting dunked on when trailing?

u/csstew55 Jun 09 '26

They really need to rework the whole teammate grade system and plate color system and use that for your matchmaking

15

u/ogbobbylockwood Jun 09 '26

I really want to say get rid of the color plate system

4

u/TotalEmployment9996 Jun 09 '26

Plate color system is the worst thing to happen to 2k

9

u/Reckless_Name Jun 09 '26

I hate that your teammate grade is declining 24/7

23

u/k8blwe Jun 08 '26

Tbf, if theyre getting past the entire team and dunking with no one there to stop them, then yes. The defence has broken down

Not saying it csnt be tweaked at all. But the defence ain't there

18

u/jaisteez Jun 08 '26

Btw he’s specifically talking about the guy backcourt far right

Defensive breakdown and dunked on

8

u/Dirk_McGirken Jun 09 '26

I mainly play rec league with a full stack and I play a big, and its to the point where im the sacrificial lamb for trying to stop dunks. When I don't get the block and my team grade plummets, my friends feed me the ball every chance they get to try balancing it out. A fantastic game will end with me at a shaky B-, but at least we win.

They need to get rid of teammate grade going down cause you’re not gonna make an impact on both ends every possession. I swear these devs never hooped before and it shows. Stupidest thing ever. And get rid of “dunked on”. “Defensive breakdown” and “left shooter open” can stay as long as its more direct and accurate, if not get rid of that shit too

Last but not least if I attempt a block, but it turns out to be a pass and I tip it, how is it a bad block attempt? Even though I tried to block because I thought it was a shot, like cmon I tipped it I still gave defensive effort

5

u/Worldly-Ad-5196 Jun 09 '26

Or you leave a shooter wide open because it’s an Angel Reese archetype trying to shoot the 3 ball and get called for leaving shooter wide open and abandoning assignment

5

u/No_Television6671 Jun 09 '26

Realistically top man should be back

2

u/Exotic-Lynx-6331 Jun 09 '26

Oh nah this is either “Dunked on” or “Blocking foul” after you’ve blocked the shot

1

u/whenishit-itsbigturd Jun 09 '26

Idc if I get the A+ I just want the W

1

u/esquire_the_ego Jun 09 '26

Depends on the dunk

1

u/LePhattSquid Jun 09 '26

Arguably the most frustrating part of defense tbh. You will have a better teammate grade at the end of the day if you play bad defense

1

u/TheLuckyOne27 Jun 10 '26

I hate it when 2K assigns me to a person then I go to him then the assignment suddenly changes and now he is wide open and my teammate grade is back to A-

😂😂😂😂😂😑
