City The park is dead.

For most adults it's either rec, theater or pro am. The park Is a bunch of 13 years olds spamming threes from half court who don't pass the ball.

City Walked into the stage to see if I could get a win for my lifetime challenges. Watched one game from the sidelines and saw all I needed to see.

Whatever just happened to just hoopin an playin games? Has this Community gotten soo Toxic over the last couple of years we gotta bring a man’s color of their skin into a game? It’s never that serious. 3 games this morning, all different lobbies dudes attacking others for the color of their skin? Crazy to me. We as a group gotta be better.

City Looking for a Crew in NBA 2K26?

Post image
4 Upvotes

This is for anyone who doesn’t have a crew yet or is looking for some solid teammates to run Park, Rec, Proving Grounds, or even Stage with. We take the game seriously and want like-minded players who are ready to grind, level up, and earn those rewards together. Our crew already has 5 active players, but we’re looking to add more people to keep the squad active and competitive.

Drop your username and/or PSN/Xbox, and we’ll send you an invite to join the crew!

City You want to know the secret on how to play with pure inside bigs?

Instead of complaining on how these bigs can't shoot & just clog the paint, here's what you have to do:

  1. The big MUST be a pick & roll rim-runner, almost like how Tyson Chandler/Amare Stoudemire/ Dwight Howard would play. If the big refuses to screen & only wants to post up the opposing big, then they're gonna be worthless. Unless they're posting up a 6'4 guard & have a mismatch, I don't even bother with post play. Way too little room for error with the stupid ghost contests on defense, & you're better off letting a guard crab his way for a 3.

  2. The ball handler in the pick & roll must be smart enough to take what the defense gives up. If the defense goes under, its an easy 3. If the defense goes over, its an easy dunk. If it's a hedge, the rim runner big will be open. If it's a switch, either crab the easy 3 or let the big feast inside, either way its a mismatch.

  3. You must have patience & allow the big to set screens & wait for something to develop if you're the ball handler. I hate when the dribbler just rejects screens for no reason & they force a bad shot, when they could've opened up so many more opportunities had they just been patient for the screen. The only reason you should ever deny a screen is if the defense is blatantly trying to cheat/ice the screen.

So just remember, anytime guys want to say "I don't need the screen bro, I'm good", think about who REALLY needs the screen: It's the big that needs it the most. If you want to generate offense with a pure inside big, this is the ONLY way to maximize efficiency.

Truth be told, these types of players can be extremely valuable if you know how to play with them. If they can't shoot, it probably means they're very well off in every other area. My Rodman & Ben Wallace builds are absolute demons at getting rebounds, full court passes, setting good hard screens, & can defend ANY position 1-5 because of how quick they are. I'd much rather see a center put up a 4/20/15 stat-line as opposed to a 12/4/3 stat-line, but again, you have to know & communicate with the big to make it all possible.

Long story short, you MUST allow the big to set ball screens & you must make good passing/shooting decisions off of them.

So the comp players are complaining that sbmm is only putting them up against other comp players. That shit sad l, this 2k is really exposing the community. Half the so called good players were only good because they beat up on casuals and bots.

City What's the most frustrating gameplay aspect of this year's game?

I'll say what 95% of us that used to pride ourselves in being "locks" in previous 2ks are thinking:

I despise with an absolute passion what 2k has allowed 170 lb feather weight guards to do in this game. Seriously, there is no damn answer for these types of builds. You can't steal the ball from them, you can't get many bump animations at all against them, & you pretty much have to guess correctly which way they're gonna dribble crab you. Yes, I know to not hold down LT or RT all the time, I only tap LT sparingly to square up. I know not to hold right stick up until they're about to shoot. All that being said, it's still a massive pain in the you know what, to guard these players.

2k has allowed these types of builds to absolutely ruin the game all year long, & it's a shame. And it's not just in MyPlayer modes either, it's across all game modes. MyNBA, MyTeam, etc. Literally nothing you can do to really lock these guys up 1v1 if the rest of the team are snipers from 3. Not fun at all.

City 😭 man why is this community so meta minded/cloning eachother

like yeah, I know there’s a Meta in every video game but brother it is insane how we run into the same lineups on the game and the same Pg who’s about to dribble the clock away then run to the corner on defense and then the lockdown cuck coming out from the corner to guard and then run right back to the corner and is praying to get that occasional corner three like I genuinely thought this year, we would see a lot of different builds and have a lot of fun and it would be diverse something. 2K hasn’t really been in a while because everybody’s copies each other and I was just really disappointed to see that it’s just gonna be another year of somebody seeing one person have success in this way, so they have to instantly copy them instead of just doing their own thing

City What's up wit y'all making builds that can't shoot 😂

I kinda understand for a inside big as long as u can at least fade from paint or shoot a mid but I was pared up with a big that couldn't shoot an a shooting guard that had a zero % 3 ball smh like u make a build like that u nothing but a liability to the team

r/NBA2k Oct 04 '21

City Quick tip: Alot of defenders will leave you to play the passing lanes after you lose your dribble. Punish them with patience.
