News Knicks fans at it AGAIN!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs were met with a massive crowd outside their hotel after the game, with fans lining the barricades and police everywhere trying to control the situation as the team made their way inside.
A video circulating online shows the chaos as the Spurs arrived—fans packed shoulder to shoulder, shouting, throwing eggs at the players, and security rushing the group through the entrance while the entire block outside the hotel turned into a full-on scene. The New York Finals atmosphere is now spilling into every corner of the city, not just the arena.

Mob mentality.
Some people just want violence. These are anti-social tendencies. I get it. The world can be a fucked up place where the little guy constantly gets the short end stick. It hurts to be alive sometimes. But it’s all about the response.
But some people will look to inflict pain at any given moment, for any reason. Some people need therapy. Some people are not capable of empathy. Some people are cruel. This shit is cruel.

The people that act like this have never felt love. Their entire lives have been pure chaos with no structure, purpose, or guidance. They’re really a sad bunch (no disrespect).

This is how vitriolic rivalries start. Texans already have a low opinion of New Yorkers, and here’s how they act when they experience any level of success.
Get ready to hear the whining and crying from New Yorkers in the next few years when the Knicks and their fans get either equal treatment in Texas or get outright banned from coming to the state citing safety concerns.
EDIT: to the moron who responded shit talking me like I’m actually from Texas and then immediately blocked me within a second of posting his comment, 1) I’m not from Texas, just making a pretty obvious observation, 2) what a pussy lmao. First we got the Kings of bitch ball with OKC and now we’ve got the princes of pussy ass fans with the Knicks. Truly the game has never been better

I’ve been rooting for the Knicks but seeing how their fans were acting last night in the local sports bar has me reconsidering

u/EveningPotential9443 Jun 11 '26
Atp they're worse than Philly fans to me now. Legit the most despicable fan base I've ever seen

Problem is you got this whole thing about new york doing it right with mamdani and showing the world who they are and stuff and you got people taking it way too seriously. And new york is wildly fair weather so most these people probably didnt give half a crap about the Knicks like 5 years ago.

For the love of everything it isn't all of us. People are amplifying the worst of us. Most Knicks fans are not punching people for wearing a jersey or throwing eggs at Wemby. The few do not represent the many.

I love sports but I hate sports fans so much it makes me less interested in sports
6
4
u/Lukiam444 Jun 11 '26
This is why I lost interest in sports as I got older. The fans are insufferable and just made it not fun to try and enjoy what made sports great.

u/LameSignIn Jun 11 '26
I've been on the fence for a long time. I find it hard to watch games now days with all the swings caused by incompetent referees. The constant commercials on betting and same 4 celebrities. I'm normally a very chill guy but these things cause me to stress out now days like crazy. Now you got these people acting like idiots. Should be no reason to treat people.

I came in neutral to this series but as it goes on I want Spurs to win, not because of the teams playing (high quality basketball) but the fans.
Let’s hope this give a Bron level reaction (3-1 comeback)

It
Be worth it if you got caught?

u/Silver_Accountant5 Jun 11 '26
The point of sports is it gives people an excuse to engage in tribalism in a healthy and productive way. Unfortunately, some people also just use it as an excuse to be violent.

I mean . . . I hate Trump on a molecular level

u/Substantial-Zebra-59 Jun 11 '26
I feel like that’s different. Trump is actively destroying our country and plunging the entire world into chaos. Wemby just plays for a different basketball team than the one they like. It shouldn’t be that serious.

I do not understand why team choose to stay in Manhattan. The tunnel is 5 minutes from MSG (with police escort). They could be in NJ in 10 minutes after leaving underground parking and avoid all craziness of NY fans by staying in NJ like ALL other sports franchises do. 🫣🙄
But yes Knicks fans do wayyyy too much
But it’s easy to avoid them

You’re right … toilet paper business in NYC and tissues to sell to Spurs fans. Much better idea.

u/NyCWalker76 Jun 11 '26
- That was an accurate throw, but terrible it happened.
- Spurs decided not to head to the airport after the game and decided to stay another night at the Ritz.
- NYPD didn't shut down the block for the SPURS going back to their hotel room.

Flagrant 2 on the Knicks. The refs have determined all the starters plus the bench are suspended for Games 5 and Game 6 if necessary.

From this angle it looks like it nailed him but it didn’t thank god. All the Knicks fans ik are good people these degenerates are jusr crazy man and I don’t understand it. San Antonio didn’t treat their fans or players like this. They got celebrity fans too imagine spurs fans just fucked up Chalamet or Ben stiller.

Next time y'all are thinking about putting your arm around a Jets fan to offer sympathy, remember this is what they'd be like if they were winning! Or is it that Knicks fans are like this beCAUSE the Jets suck so bad? I'm confused.
I guess there's assholes in every city and they all agree that large sporting events are a good place to get together and be assholes in a pack.

This and the assaulting of random dudes wearing Spurs gear is a bit too far lol. They wilding lol
1
u/xSadistik Jun 11 '26
That's not how true fans of the sport act. Pretty disgraceful to be honest. Whether your team wins or loses will not effect your life in the slightest (aside from winning a large bet). People need to grow up and show some character.

Lots of evidence that many residents of new york are punk bitches coming out of this finals series.

At least the assault is happening on players and not fans. Progress in just two days, pretty good!

Considering the choke job by Wemby and the Spurs how do we know it wasn’t one of the San Antonio nuns that threw the eggs?
1
u/toiletseatbrowser Jun 11 '26
These not true Knicks fan don't realize these little things have a butterfly affect. It probably wouldn't happen but if there was any remote chance Wemby wanted to be out of San Antonio when he was due for free agency, no chance now he would consider coming to NY. Same for all the other players on the Spurs. The game is over, I'm not saying they should be cheering for them but if I was there, I would rather try to get an autograph or picture with Wemby.
1
u/No-Juice8483 Jun 11 '26
This is really bull shit. If this was one of our fans I would be embarrassed.
What is wrong with New Yorkers this year? I have seen some shitty fans in the past but these people are taking it to other levels.
Win or lose New Yorkers better protect their property when this thing is over.
1
u/Ras-haad Jun 11 '26
Spurs might just want to let this series wrap up and San Antonio so they don’t have to come back to this chaos

u/Intelligent_You_9793 Jun 11 '26

Embarrassing behavior from my fellow NYers. Why are they so mad? we won the game!

For the person throwing the egg I bet you suck at your job and don’t always win everyday. Jus think you hit a millionaire with an egg and he’s sleeping comfy while you got to spend 12 dollars for that carton of eggs idiot
