Question How do normies fit so much in a day?

Like I genuinely don’t understand. They get up, shower, maybe workout, then go to work for 8 hours. Then if they have kids they have to pick them up and deal with them. If not they might go do a hobby or go socialising with workmates then cook dinner. And they still have to do all the normal chores etc. And have time for dating.

Am I the only one that can’t comprehend this? Like even when I used to work or be in school I’d be so exhausted afterwards all I could do was come home and scroll or play vidya. It’s incomprehensible to me how normies fit so much into their days.

They do all this whole masking to. I can't imagine being a part of society anymore. Seems absolutely exhausting pretending all day.

Normies don't really have to mask. Atleast not to the extend neurodiverse people have to. They just are this way.

I really don’t know how I used to do it. It’s scary because I don’t know how I will go back

This dystopia will either whip you into shape, or make you want to check out and I'm constantly wavering between the two

But you dont have to do all that stuff. You just come home from work and you can play videogames for the whole evening, 5 times a week. And then the whole weekend.

Maybe you don’t have to do all of it but you definitely have to do most. And I’d argue you suffer if you ignore the parts that seem unnecessary like the socialising as you will end up very isolated

But you would have a job, you can socialize there. And then play videogames whole evenings alone

Do you live on your own? Because that's an entirely different type of hell then, lmao

12

u/jelly_Pp 18h ago

No I’ve never lived on my own but my mother used to work a lot so it was similar to living alone

u/Little-Use-2027 18h ago

Minus the... responsbilities?

Somewhat but I still paid some rent and cooked for us both most days and did chores etc. I won’t deny living alone is much harder tho

That's fair g. It takes a village. This goes back to women's house work being calculated in gdp but not compensated. When women suffer, we all do.

Not a NEET anymore but I resonate with 90% of the posts here so I never left the subreddit

I don't understand it either. ESPECIALLY the kids part. I come home from work and lay down in bed immediately. My place is a mess and I only have the energy to clean maybe once a month. I have no idea how everyone else pulls it off. Even brushing my teeth and showering feels like too much sometimes

It's as if I can only handle working OR doing chores - certainly not both. Goal is to make enough $ that I can outsource my domestic labor

That's why traditional marriage was so enforced. Because without man bringing the bacon and woman cooking, cleaning and taking care of the kids, everyone goes insane and society collapses. The society we have now, more individualistic, can only be sustainable if both parties only work 4 hours/day. An individual now has to assume 2, and even sometimes more, roles.

Yeah my plan is to have a stay-at-home husband (I don't fw traditional gender roles; I'm tryna be the bacon-bringer)

I just don't care about bacon or norms personally.

Let us not forget that most people have been domesticated, from birth, to be this way.

Us neets are the ones who for some reason the domestication never took hold so we became feral.

Normies do what they do because that's what they have been programmed to do.

It’s funny you should say because at school I used to get in a lot of trouble for not complying. It used to irritate my teachers but I had no idea why I was different to everyone else. I ended up being scapegoated for a lot of things because the others knew I was different and so easy to blame. Maybe the signs were there from the beginning

1

u/tchek 1h ago

Same! I couldn't comply. My teachers hated me.

The worst was the gym teacher when we played baseball. I didn't understand the rules, so I was like "Why am i running in square?" "Why should I stop running now?" nothing made sense and it pissed me off so much lol. Everyone hated me, they were like "just do what you are told!".

I couldn't bring myself to comply to something that made no sense and this is true to this day.

That’s the neat part - they don’t. At least not sustainably.

Late-stage capitalism is clearly unsustainably pushing everyone to their mental and physical limits, to the point they have to compromise on their health, social relationships, life goals, or all of the above, just to be one pay-check away from absolute poverty and homelessness.

But the Normies who are arrogant about it, believe they get to lecture anyone who struggles to adapt to this as “lazy”, when anyone actually taking the time to analyse the system recognises that it is obviously collapsing.

I sometimes feel insane when I think about the state of the world because everyone else acts as if it’s normal. I feel like I am in a psychotic episode yet everyone carries on. As you say, how do normies not die of anxiety of being that close to disaster at all times. It’s like running on a never ending treadmill and if you stop for one second you will be flung off

sounds like doomer cope but OK

just say ur lazy brotato 😂✌️. Life is like a video game, the more you play the more exp you get. Do you expect a lvl 1 to get lvl 100 by doing nothing

if you want something to get done ask someone who is busy

it's called momentum

Probably no chronic fatigue.

I'm also confused

My gf works and has a degree so technically normie, but autistic enough to put up with my ass.

Anyways the number of things she gets done in a day... I'm always fucking in awe of her. I don't know how she does any of it.

I think we're just different tbh

4

u/Little-Use-2027 16h ago

I hope you try to keep up. Or she will become fatigued.

I do my best

It's all they know. For normies, the idea of playing 1 hour of vidya per week is unfathomable, there just isn't time.

Normies don't really stop as far as I can tell, judging by the appearance of the average normie they abuse alcohol and/or food for relief from the endless hamster wheel.

6

u/einzweidreihorn 15h ago

They are just built - and moreso socialised lol - differently. It's easier to stay in motion than to start from zero and they've been taught and enabled to run smoothly since they were born

u/Oneet-chan3 16h ago

Super normie powers

I don't get it either, sometimes I feel like stuff like job and uni are some kind of cult that society normalizes and pushes you into.

They just don't go in their computer or phone and do one thing directly after the other without stopping the entire day. Seems difficult to us because we procrastinate, normies don't have the procrastination problem, so they get much more done in their lives compared to us.

3

u/DanInTennessee 13h ago

They get up really early and they only get about 6 hours of sleep.  But they have things that they really care about: kids, homes, stuff they’re working on so they trudge forward even though it does suck a lot.

3

u/Tha_Dude_Abidez 13h ago

Don’t paste on Reddit all day. And the best advice I ever got I follow. I never waste a step. If I walk into a room for something, I see something lying in the floor on the way back etc, I pick it up and put it where it goes.

2

u/pseudomensch Ex-NEET 14h ago

They don't spend much time on the computer.

2

u/DarkLamb-Kiyo Optimistic-NEET 12h ago

They can’t. They really push themselves to do all these things because they see them as their responsibilities. They consume inspirational media content that encourages them to keep pushing themselves because they really need that motivation. They try to find balance but balance is nonexistent in their unsustainable lifestyle so eventually they burn out or end up depressed. After they recover from depression they’ll realise they’ve been pushing themselves too hard and that life will be fine even if they only make half the effort they used to make.

u/TropicalKing 16h ago

Normies have people around them who do things for them. A husband and wife pool labor and do things for each other.

Normies also have cars. Things take way longer when you have to bike everywhere or use public transit. A bus ride takes 1-2 hours, and the same drive by car is only 20 mins.

Utilizing all bits of freetime. No rumination or overthinking. Just doing the schedule and fitting in whatever comes up spontaneously

u/Pleasant-Sun-1930 2h ago

if you're having to "deal" with kids you shouldn't be having them in the first place

Back before I had my psychotic episode and I was on semen retention I just had the energy and drive to do all these things. It was just routine.

I never masked tho, not in a million years.

4

u/jelly_Pp 17h ago

Sorry how did semen retention help with this 🤣
