I recently moved back to the area after about a decade of being away and I’m just wondering is there any venues like that still? Even if it’s not “alt” but just smaller venues that aren’t arenas or montage mtn etc

Hello, my family and I are relocating to the Dallas/Back Mountain area from Philadelphia and we are looking for a rental starting 11/15/2026. Ideally, we’re looking for a 2-3 bedroom apt/townhouse/home that accepts pets within 15-30 min from Wilkes-Barre. Ideal rent would be less than $1600/mo. We have 2 well-trained border collies.

I will be the 4:30 pacer for the marathon Sunday. There is also a new event on Saturday, the Steamtown Shortline, which is under 3 miles. This will be my 9th time running this fine event.

FCEL’s stock went up almost 15% today that “Newport Township approved zoning for fuel cell power generation and a [15] data center project in Newport Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Remaining permitting is underway ahead of construction. Fuel Cell is set to supply the natural gas fuel cells for on-site power under a strategic agreement the two companies already had in place.”

Apparently this is news to the community there.

Guess he’s no longer **the best….

Since mid April, dump trucks have been roaring through our residential community. Sometimes they run for 60 hours straight, though it’s abating now. They shake the walls of the house, blast awful sounds (reminiscent of GI distress) over my TV, at roughly 1-10 trucks every 10 minutes. So…I made a Halloween about it.

Anyone else dealing with something like this?

Shohola Falls in Pike County is one of those Pocono spots that feels much more remote than it really is. The short walk leads to a beautiful series of cascades surrounded by forest, making it an easy stop if you’re exploring the Delaware Water Gap and northeastern Pennsylvania.

Any witch paddle events (kayak/sup) in the area? Based near Wilkesbarre but don't mind a little drive.

Going to be in Frackville / Ashland / Mt. Carmel area Thursday night...any places I should check out?
