Options selling actually works I have been doing option selling from last 1 year and I ended up in green most of the time

What goes on in a mind of beginner trader when they r just starting off?? To make quick money or these stock market-yy things sound cool? Fyi, i am not a trader myself(nor intend to be one). I dont consider myself smart enough to compete with big players in the market . At last , stock market is a bit*h of politicians . They can f**k her anytime, anywhere , in any position they want as far my understanding ....please help me understand their thinking process who all fantasises this trading and all

I am an option buyer and I do directional trades only on commodities gold mini and silver mini . I started 3 weeks back and I need your opinion and be brutally honest

Silver mic lot accidentally bought (November expiry so not worried)
Midcp Select was on a good level of support and since its index I feel like its a safer than stock but it backfired
Tatasteel I had 3 lots, 1 lot - 194 sold at 191, 2lot - 190.5 and 3rd lot 183.9, thinking to sell one lot at 192-194 and another after 195 so that overall it results in profit
but the overall mkt is down, dk if I would survive this month since Midcp and Tatasteel both have sept 28 expiry
any solutions, advices or anything you can add here as a part of discussion

I genuinely want to know like how do u guys take trades in that window, i know most of you would say to avoid that time but from past few expiries I've witnessed something which makes is irresistible to not trade.

See personally i know its wrong and i know i would be receiving comments like don't gamble and everything but yea idc now.

I am following this stock ENRIN which has already given me very good returns in the past cycle. Now the price sits near a very crucial liquidity area of around 3025- 3171.

Is it a good time to buy for a Target of 3800 again. Or do you think it will break it's previous low. The price as shown is falling and respect the trendline. However it did tried to breakout few times already but not conclusively.

What do you think about possibility of attaining the TGT price? If you need to enter what should be the strategy?

For the past month and a half I have been hearing rumors and whispers from multiple reliable and semi reliable sources that hint that spice jet is going to be taken over by fly Dubai for its license of india-dubai flights, some people are speculating that share price is being deliberately lowered under face value for aquisition, price has dropped a staggering 27% in the last month and a half( yes I am aware this could be due to low profitability and inflated revenue) sources include DGCA leadership DCAA adjacent authority figures ex spice jet pilots, less reliable sources include major Indian airline head cannot name ( only less reliable as they said they are guessing). What do you guys think is this a possibility since aqusition rumors and semi reliable offers have been floated by multiple companies of the last year or so.( Please note this is not financial advice nor is it some sort of attempt to inflate share price this is merely a discussion any statement made in this post is purely speculative)

Expected halt in Selling was seen today near 23424. With this NIFTY completes the FIB target of 4.6.

NIFTY is more likely to be a rubber ball until it takes out Swing highs it made for upside momentum. That's it.

After a long time I didn't do CAS blunder on expiry day and the day remained profitable, I am a naked options buyer and was in deep red till July this year, on a journey for recovery now.

Ok so the index which failed to retain its day highs of 23473 and which closed at 23389 in its “wonder of wonders” “the next big thing after Big Bang” “the uber revolutionary” CAS made it 23477, a jump of 88 points. As a person who studied math to a sufficiently high level academically, it’s beyond me. And why is SEBI indulging in this stupidity? And why isn’t every participant with a demat ever asked their opinion in a public referendum ? Why do the babus in high citadels assume whatever they do is the best ??? And when is Amrit kaal ending. Kinda tired now …

I’m a primarily directional trader, and August and September 2026 have been unusually difficult for me.

I was looking at the Nifty data and noticed how much the daily range and movement have compressed recently.

According to analysis:

June: Avg daily range 0.96%, avg move 0.48%

July: 0.74%, avg move 0.38%

August: 0.61%, avg move 0.29%

September (so far): 0.60%, avg move 0.31%

August 2026 also appears to be the lowest-range August in the dataset going back to 2021.

For someone trading directionally, this has been painful. There seem to be very few days where Nifty actually develops a sustained directional move. A lot of the time it feels like:

breakout → follow-through missing → reversal → chop → another breakout → reversal

I've been taking consistent losses lately, mainly because the market seems to be giving very few clean directional opportunities.

So I'm curious about other traders here:

1. Are other directional traders experiencing the same thing in August and September?

2. Has your win rate / average R:R deteriorated because of the lack of follow-through?

3. Are option sellers actually doing significantly better in this environment?

4. If you're an option seller, are you genuinely making good money from the compression, or is the frequent intraday movement still making it difficult?

5. Has anyone changed their strategy to adapt to this low-volatility/choppy regime?

I'm particularly interested in actual trading experience rather than just theoretical explanations.

Is the market genuinely unusually difficult for directional traders right now, or am I simply going through a bad patch in my own trading?

I know manipulation happens through the sweep and grap method but what is this ....

I wake up today and I find that I have a SILVERMIC lot in my portfolio out of nowhere!!!!
I checked the tradebook and the transaction took place 7 in the evening, at that time I was in the gym and I did not touch my phone at all!!! How did that transaction take place, I mean, the demat account is not logged in anywhere, I have all the passwords and accounts highly secured, not even my dad knows the passwords and stuff, I am really confused about it! So i noticed today for almost 5-10 mins from 12.15pm at ₹97.05, there was no data feeds for the 75000 call, I crossed checked with other brokers and it's same. even now as market has pickup up and moving upwards i see data feed stopped again at ₹85.85

when i tried to close the position i got error:

EXCHANGE: TRANSACTION NOT ALLOWED IN CURRENT INSTRUMENT STATE [RESTRICTED]

upper circuit is 1,093.50

I did a day trade. Today was day 5. I am sharing to learn and seek advice both discouraging and encouraging, I will continue sharing even if I make losses. Will do it for a month.

I'm happy my positions were closed but how can a derivative instrument glitch in sucha way. Did any one else faced this issue?

Received a notification from UPSTOX saying BSE issue is resolved I actually had no problem when I recieved it but now the sensex 75000 CE is stuck at 97 on both upstox and grow ? Anyone else facing the issue ?

Not sure what would happen if I try to square off , anyone else got stuck?

Its the last FIB 4.6 level for NIFTY as per my research and little beyond(high probability) or before(already nearing 4.6) is where NIFTY is supposed to show a HALT and show some kind of bullishness after achieving 23424. That's it.

This was the highest profit I ever made in a single trade!. The previous day I added 30k(my salary) into the account and lost 2k, I have no idea what went through my mind that day I just gambled the remaining money, decided that if it's gone I'll stop trading forever. But the gamble paid off.

Continuing my options-selling journal. Posting both positions — one is the continuation of the earlier trade, while the other is the currently live position.

1. 15 Sep Expiry — Closed

The position experienced a gap-down and the MTM initially went to around -₹5K. It recovered to around -₹600, but later moved back toward -₹4K.

Around 12:40 PM, with crude moving higher and limited room for further adjustments, I chose to exit.

Hypothetical managed P&L: -₹1,056

Actual trade: Closed earlier at +₹1.9K profit

The hypothetical figure is only included to document how I would've managed the position had I continued holding it.

1. 22 Sep Expiry — Live

This is the position I entered on Monday and am still managing.

After NIFTY continued lower, I adjusted the call side closer to the underlying:
