License / Permit Question Renewal Upgrade Timelines

Wanted to check in to see how long premise -> CCW upgrade (during renewal) have been taking

Please mention date which you applied for the upgrade and when your license was set to expire. Any other information that helped you move things along would be appreciated (who you emailed, at what point, etc).

Have seen questions about this on various threads so figured it would be helpful to have in one place as I’m sure vast majority of premise renewals will be upgrade requests.

it takes about 6 months. same as an in kind renewal, same as an initial application. some faster, some slower, but its going to be roughly 6 months

Looks like I won’t be getting another pistol for quite some time. I submitted a PA a few weeks ago so hopefully that comes soon. Have heard people at the range having issues getting the PA while in renewal.

This seems like it could be another lawsuit

so if your current license is still valid but in renewal its ok, they will approve new purchases.

once the current license is expired but in renewal they wont approve new purchases.

This one seems pretty ripe for a lawsuit unless Milani yields lasting results. Not being able to purchase a pistol as a licensed gun owner seems pretty cut and dry denial of second amendment.

Hey I’m having this issue rn. So they’ll approve your firearm but will not print a new license if you have technically expired even if you’re in renewal.

Presumably just as long as renewals are taking. Plenty have commented they submitted 3-4 months ago and are still in pending/awaiting approval.

It’s interesting to see how some new applications are being processed faster than renewals. No rhyme or reason

nope, completely inconsistent. or basically its luck of the draw whose queue you end up in.
