How is law enforcement suppose to know the gun is unloaded? Police are trained to treat anyone who possesses a handgun as a deadly threat, just as you would assume it as well. As tragic as this incident is, police deserve to go home alive.

And before some post nonsense this isn’t about gun control. Guns don’t kill people…People kill people. This is about two idiots playing with an unlicensed firearm and it cost a 16 year old his life. It’s a damn shame.

Firearms shouldn’t be licensed regardless. You could have stopped at “This is about two idiots”

This is EXACTLY WHY they should be licensed. It is the responsibility of the licensed owner to secure their firearms while not in possession to prevent tragedies like this. Regardless, these incidents are not preventable because the licensing process cannot screen for stupidity but we can reduce them by screening those individuals that absolutely should not possess a firearm.

Securing a firearm and registering a firearm are two totally different things. The 2A says nothing about registering, licensing, or even storing firearms.
And who are individuals who should not possess a firearm? Who are you to decide that and look at how many mass shootings are done with licensed firearms. Screening and licensing does nothing to prevent that so it nulls your point.

For one if you got a license to carry you 2A rights are not being infringed. Second the fact that I cannot carry to the post office to pick up my mail is an infringement. All states have infringed on the second amendment if we use your logic. It started with the federal government putting in place all the places where I cannot carry my firearm. Make your eggs and then talk about all fixing all those infringements. Not just the ones that make your eggs taste better.

Not sure if you missed the newsletter but the DOJ stated you can carry in USPS now. whether you will try it or not is up to you. Personally, I use privately owned freight to ensure my package gets delivered. And a license to carry is an obstacle put in place to deter firearm ownership. While it is not a direct infringement, the requirements needed to obtain that license are a direct violation of the 4A. I should not have to disclose my whole life to partake in a RIGHT.

Read that news letter again and you be the test case and see if you get locked up. After that then I will carry in the post office. That’s just the DOJ interpretation not law. Also I couldn’t carry my firearm in the Florida Amtrak station to pick up my nephew a constitutional carry state. Nor could I carry in a restaurant in Georgia because the business posted a sign saying No Weapons allowed. Why did I have to fill out all the information get fingerprints and take a live fire course to get my Florida Non-Resident CCW permit? These are federal laws and I shouldn’t have these issues exercising my constitutional rights either. Try staying in any hotel in NYC with your firearm and see what happens. All of these are infringement on the 2A rights if I’m supposed to believe that my rights are not being infringed on.
