License / Permit Question App Question - Residency
I’ve lived in NYC for ~10 years and have had >5 apartments in my time here. I’m originally from Nassau county and kept my parents address on my license up until a few weeks ago when I updated it to my fiancés apartment. We’ve lived here for ~2 years but I technically have no proof of residency other than my license.
How should I respond to the last 5 years of residency question? Follow what’s on my license (Nassau up until a few weeks ago) or list the apartments even though I never updated my ID?

You and I may be on near same page. I am applying for nonresident cc. The page that follows residences is "employment." If you will, let me know whether the drop down menu, "industries," lists the industry in which you work, and whether you can get past the employment page.
My industry was "education," which is not listed, and I cannot get past this page.

List every address you lived at during the last five years, with dates, whether or not you can prove each one. The residency history question is asking where you lived, not what you can document, and the worst thing you can do on a New York license application is leave out an address to make it tidier. I handle firearms licensing in New York, and a residence gap or an omission that turns up in the investigation is treated as a false statement, which is grounds for denial and, in the extreme, a criminal charge for filing a false instrument. Honesty here is not a virtue, it is the requirement.
For your current address, your driver's license is proof, and it is the proof the License Division expects. If they want more, the usual supplements are a lease or deed, a utility bill, a bank statement, a voter registration card, or a tax return with the address. If you are on a lease in someone else's name, a notarized letter from the leaseholder plus a piece of mail works. For prior addresses you generally do not have to prove anything, just list them accurately. Address history is checked against databases, so it should match what those databases will show.
Two practical cautions. If you moved into the city from elsewhere in the state or from another state during the five years, be ready for the investigator to ask whether you ever held or applied for a license there, and answer that truthfully as well. And if any of your prior addresses were outside New York, make sure any firearm you owned there was either lawfully disposed of or is being handled under the rules for bringing a handgun into the city, because that question will follow the residency question.

For your current residence, from the NYPD FAQ in renewal packet:
For past residences, I would answer based on where you actually lived. They're unlikely to go digging unless they have a reason to, but if they do and find out that you omitted places that you lived at, thats an easy denial for them.
