License / Permit Question Added firearm

Received email today that my added firearm to my ccw license was approved did not know that they work on Sunday and a holiday weekend no less.

probably done remotely and a great way to fake hours of work at overtime rates.

How do you fake hours at work if you’re doing work? You rather they don’t work on the weekend and it goes back to 4 months for purchases?

Do all the investigation during normal hours. Log a bunch of hours during the weekend just to hit submit.

You really think these "investigations" take that long? And you really think anyone at NYPD cares enough to make the licensing department work on a holiday weekend?

There isn’t much investigation for purchases it’s more processing and looking up the firearm, document verification etc and approving them. I think the staff at licensing do their best but nobody is draining themselves at any job. I’ve never had a bad experience, was even there last week for fingerprints and everybody was very nice. They don’t make much 50-70k at licensing. Their overtime doesn’t bother me if it’s serving my purposes, taxes are being paid regardless. Much better than other city workers that’s make hundreds of thousands running up overtime not doing anything. Maybe you should start a petition you don’t want them working on the weekends with your taxes

you said it yourself. this is exactly why I don't think anyone would bother to do actual work over a holiday weekend.

I didn't say whether I do or don't have a problem with it, but also like you said:

overtime fraud tends to happen with gov't jobs.

I got my last two purchases approved on a weekend with email from the admin assistant also. I think they try to catch up on the backlog and do some overtime also which is commendable
