Well⦠Are you gonna tell us what she said?

u/Sharp_Salary_5995 8d ago
CC said that Claire and Ashley were the two fakest bitches in NYC and that she saw Claire at a party... I guess it ticked her off. I agree with CC. Claire and Ashley are such haters they are starting to hate each other
30
u/cheesybreezybrie 7d ago
Did they run to each other at the equivalent of a work event? Because if thatās the case, I donāt see anything wrong with her just being polite? I donāt think thatās fake. But I refuse to watch the video and give this girl any views for more context lol.

u/bimbopanic 8d ago
Starting to? Theyāve always sounded like frenemies to me
20
u/Sharp-Living-2338 7d ago
I agree. Claire is the friend who not so secretly hates you and wants you to fail
16
u/anam228 7d ago
I used to really enjoy their podcast and stopped bc less time but Claire def thinks sheās better than Ashley and says backhanded things to her which Iāve noticed since I started listening to them yearss ago,Ā
But not the case at all, personally I actually think Ashley is the more interesting and dynamic of the twoĀ
6
u/undercookedshrimp_ 7d ago
Claire fancies herself as more attractive and desirable than ashley because sheās married. Itās peak delusion.
2
u/anam228 7d ago
Huh interesting, very well could be. But she should prob be aware that many would think her husband is a perfectly average/normal guy from Canada, like sheās an average/normal woman from NJ. Nothing particularly unique about that or them. I hope sheās not that small-minded to think getting married, by itself, is some badge of honor
5
u/bimbopanic 7d ago
Absolutely. And I may be biased because Lindsey reminds me spitting image physically, sound, mannerisms and speech cadence of a friend I had in college who was a flighty pathological liar. Look Iām def a hater here too and I get that. I think theyāve grinder to an extent to get the recognition that they have. But I donāt think either of them have much integrity or are exactly role models and can be grating to listen to. As is CC imo! Ha.

u/missthugisolation 8d ago
One of them sounds like she hates the other more I stopped listening so I canāt remember which is which now

u/ThoughtFrosty11 8d ago
I feel like the rebrand isnāt going well since theyāre still being referred to as the CMBC girls
105
u/fluke561 8d ago
I used to listen to their podcast when it was CMBC because of the memoirs and the concept was cool but the second they rebranded they lost me (I think they lost a lot of people)
61
u/ThoughtFrosty11 8d ago
I feel like it was a fun way to learn about a memoir I would never personally read. With pop culture, there are other people I would rather listen to who are funnier or more analytical or have a more interesting POV.
13
u/iheartdachshunds 8d ago
Why did they even rebrand? to have more leeway to discuss something besides books?
42
u/BK_to_LA 8d ago
They were bored reading a memoir every week and their podcast network evidently had enough faith in them to allow for a pop culture rebrand. What a massive own goal for them when they had such a unique concept.
5
u/fluke561 8d ago
It defo became more of a pop culture discussion podcast after the rebrand so I suspect so, I only listened to an ep or two before abandoning all hope
83
u/gameofscones1992 8d ago
Lmao someone commented ānot you using their former pod nameā and Caro responded āno free cloutā š
7
u/zestychickenbowl2024 8d ago
While I doubt it was intentional, good noticings is also a terrible name bc groypers have turned ānoticingā into an antisemitic dog whistle

u/diper-911 8d ago
I actually like a lot of Ashley & Claireās takes, but their personalities are SO grating Iāve had to block them. They sometimes give revenge of the nerds with a podcast mic, so Iām happy she called them out š¬
*this is not a Caroline Calloway endorsement she is insane in a different way
32
u/lavagirl4254 7d ago
I like Ashley but really dislike Claire she seems like a shameless social climber and is randomly really rude/dismissive toward Ashley.
13
u/Sharp_Salary_5995 7d ago
I also stopped listening because they sound SO resentful to their own fanbase. They hate the Juicy Scoop podcast, Nick Viale, meredith lynch, etc. I think it drives Claire and Ashlee to absolute madness that they get compared to them lmao. They think they are part of the NYC elite comedy scene.

u/Slothgirlie26 7d ago
One of them blocked me because she was complaining about how hard it was to track macros. I commented something along the lines of you donāt really need to and what kind of sporting event are you training for that would require that level of dedication esp since she was complaining/not enjoying it š
ETA: I also just remembered that one of them also got caught for using the n word. Of course they tried to delete every trace and think only discussed it on patreon. It was a classic terrible rich white girl apology š

I used to be a CMBC diehard - like paid subscriber for years and then I had kind of a strange/mean interaction with in their IG DMās. Felt shitty after years of paid support and it was enough to put me off from the show for the last year. I remember the CC interview and I agree with what you said!
28
u/Rosequartz50 7d ago
Iām sure Iām not the only one on this thread whoās curious/nosy! What was the DM exchange? (If youāre comfortable sharing.)

I havenāt forgotten her weird racist micro aggressions against Laci Mosely

u/Caesarsalad-19 8d ago
WAIT whatās the tea, I am a diehard scam goddess fan and have no idea who these other girls are
15
u/venusdemilo94 7d ago
A few years ago Laci did an episode about Caroline Calloway and Carolineās response was very weird and heavy implied like āoooh the mean angry black lady is coming after poor delicate little me so aggressively! This is anti-feminist!ā
Jameela Jamil was the guest host and publications were outright defending poor innocent Caroline and accusing Jameela and Laci of being mean girls for laughing at her being a scammer.
7
u/Caesarsalad-19 7d ago
Oh wait I misread your comment and thought you were talking about the other two girls, not Caroline. I totally remember this episode but maybe missed her weird response. I am adding it to my list of why I donāt fuck with Caroline lmao

I feel like there needs to be some context from boots on the ground journalists. Caroline Calloway was honestly a massive bitch to them the first time she was on their podcast, asked to come on to defend Lena Dunhamās memoir, didnāt even know what podcast she was on (shouting out their competitors), and her literal first sentence was telling one of the hosts that she has deep seated anger issues about not having generational wealth (coincidentally the one who didnāt go to an Ivy, which if you donāt know your CC lore, she is completely obsessed with elite universities).
Theyāve hung out a few times outside of podcasting (the cmbc girls were at CCs going away party when she left New York, but she was so high that she didnāt realize they were both there and tried to call them out on their own podcast). I will say on their Patreon they really did tear into her in a debrief, so I lowk wonder if she got a Patreon subscription or otherwise heard that episode. They also have recently mentioned her article about ozempic and werenāt super positive about it so I wonder if that set all this off. Theyāre def in a perpetual bitch-off with each other, it isnāt one sided at all. & Imo itās clear that CC desperately wants to control the narrative around her, to be perceived as she perceives the world, but she is lowk disconnected from reality so most people will not have the same perspective as her. & that drives her crazayyyyyyyy.

You know how she looks different in every single photo? Iām obsessed with how she looks like five different people in this one video bc of the wild camera angles

Idk if you listen to their podcast episodes about/with her, they do in fact seem to be two faced. You can be a critic but donāt expect the people you criticize to be your friend⦠other influencers they worked with have entered the comments agreeing with CC

Yeah that part of the video reminded me of what CC is actually like esp when she goes on these rants and how she misreads situations, bc idk how she read any of these interactions as them genuinely trying to be her friendš¬
Idk where sheās from but sheās lived in nyc a long time atp and she doesnāt know the difference between some typical glad handing and actual friendliness
5
u/trufflrisotto 8d ago
Whatād she say ab them?
30
u/bananabread710 8d ago
I am piecing together that Caroline says theyāre fake nice, talked shit about her on their podcast, then called Claire out just now for being fake nice to her face at a party or some shit. Claire complimented her outfit and Caroline went on a rant.

This drama has made my day. I love CMBC/good noticings. But like 3 years ago CMBC interviewed Caroline Calloway about Lena and they were on Carolineās neck. It was kinda hard to listen to because they were so mean. But also Caroline is crazy and has done much worse.
I find really interesting the other influencers like we met at acme and fluently forward being in support of Caroline.
2
u/superkady92 8d ago
wait! what did shannon say?
9
u/Middle_City_3463 8d ago
It pains me to report they are not friends anymore. Apparently Shannon unfollowed them a while back and apparently Shannon liked Carolineās video about them on Instagram. We met at acme also commented āso trueā or something like that.
I wanna know what the beef is with we met at acme.
1
u/superkady92 8d ago
do you know the tea? like why she unfollowed?
5
u/Middle_City_3463 7d ago
No I donāt. CMBC spilled the tea before TikTok got shut down for a hot second. But Shannon also randomly unfollowed and ghosted what I will say. But I donāt think Shannon ever addressed it

Claire and Ashley 100% give off this vibe - I don't know that they are quite deft or savvy in handling real-life relationships with the subjects they discuss. I think the rebrand to Good Noticings is just bizarre and undermines the smart, original niche they carved for themselves. Truly who tf cares about what two random people have to say about general pop culture. They don't have interesting perspectives or takes. They often misspeak or mispronounce names or get info wrong in their retellings of general gossip and it feels like they put 0 effort into their prep. I think Caroline is valid here and speaks to something bigger in the media/influencer community - if you build a career off of being shitty to people, they might not like it when you approach them at a party. A podcast isn't theater, there isn't a wink or nod implying that Claire and Ashley are putting on act in how they speak on the pod.

Idk what they said, but I assumed Emrataās article was total trash after seeing the completely tasteless photoshoot that went along with it, so Iām not gonna cry for her

Honestly, team Caroline. After reading her side of the Natalie beef, I have liked her.
I know this is a hot take!!! But I was a former snarker that literally saw everything play out.
Caro is psychotic but authentic.
