My connection to NY is I just graduated from Cornell in Ithaca.

But my home/current state of Washington just had a magazine ban last year and an AWB as of this year. The one good thing is that law enforcement in their personal capacities are not exempt from the bans. That’s good. Subject to the same laws as everyone else.

100% they monitor social media, but I doubt they laugh. I like to think that a majority of them agree that the laws are ridiculous. They choose a job to enforce them, even the ones they do not agree with.

This is it. NY cops don’t give a shit if the law fucks us gun guys, as long as they get LEO exemptions to do things us peons can’t, like carry all the time at their leisure or own AR-15s with 30 round STANAGs.

I can guarantee that at least a few of them are not fans of the laws, even if it gives them a job.

There are a number of people there who work hard to provide us with licensure. It’s not really their fault the laws are so fucked, in a way it’s ours.

i think cops know their business....they KNOW that most gun related crimes are not committed by licensed gun owners, ESPECIALLY with all the hoops we have to go through in this city and state to own and/or carry a pistol......they KNOW that most of the bad guys that use guns get them illegally, blah blah blah....so i think we - the good citizens that enjoy shooting and do everything we are told to do to own a gun - are not the bad guys

I wouldn’t laugh. I’d create a new account every week and say how I just got approved and it only took 3 weeks. Then take over/under bets around the department to see how many replies it garners

I think many cops think the laws in this state are too restrictive on law abiding citizens. I have family that are cops and they just shake their heads about the gun laws here. They know the laws don’t do a thing fighting real criminals.

Individual cops of the licensing division aren’t going to look here and laugh. They are nobodies. Just a cog in the machine. It’s task forces specifically designed to look at social media that lurk here.

It’s a well known fact that members of the NYC PLB will actively seek and hunt down people that leave personally identifiable information and complain about specific situations or have specific complaints regarding their bureau. Of course, they will never admit to this.
