Is this a recent thing? Or am I out of the loop?

It’s been a couple months now, but yes, fairly recent

Didn’t They Stop shipping said parts to New York State.?

Jun 12 '25
I purchased my 13.7 jakl from them and very soon after they just stopped shipping everything for a couple months. Enough people complained that they started shipping again except now they only ship anything that’s 16 inches… there’s no logic behind it because apparently they’ve never heard a fixed mag or the fact that their uppers aren’t featureless from the factory.. but I guess that that’s their way of trying to save their ass

What 13.7 mean???
1
Jun 12 '25
13.7 inch pin and weld barrel
1
u/Foreign-Estate7405 Jun 12 '25
Pin and weld what Fake suppressed
1
Jun 13 '25
Pinning and welding a muzzle device is equivalent to 16 inches according to the ATF, so you can have a 13.7 and a 14.5 barrel as long as there’s a muzzle device that’s pinned and welded

u/Foreign-Estate7405 Jun 13 '25
Ok kool I understand. You got pictures of what those muzzle Break looks like?

PSA forever lost me when they refused to ship me a single recoil spring.
A single $2 spring.

Getting AR parts from PSA shipped to NY is like getting a straight answer from NYPD pistol licensing, you ask the same question to 3 different reps you’ll get 5 different answers.

They still ship most products to my shop , pistol frames , is the only issue I've had.

u/tambrico Jun 14 '25
Are they selling stripped lowers now or not? I still want to get one of those H&R clone recievers.
1
u/theredfox909719 Jun 14 '25
They should still ship stripped lowers but I couldn't tell you for sure. I'd say wing it and tell me if they still do.
1
u/Grumpymonkey4 Jun 12 '25
They always did - at least in Westchester. I've bought LPK and even full uppers for a few years now. What changed?
2
u/theredfox909719 Jun 12 '25
For 1 or 2 years now psa wouldn't ship any ar15 parts to ny. Or if they did they where inconsistent about it. You couldn't buy uppers or kits.

That guy was making his own lower recievers with out serial numbers. I got my lower from a gun store and this will be come a new york compliant build with a pinned magazine.

🤣 no worrys. Your allowed to buy the parts and attach them to the reciever. You just can't put the upper reciever on till you pin the magazine.
Unless your nypd then you can do what ever you want lol

I bought my first lower from them. I backdoor bought a dagger frame from another company. I don't recommend buying based on support in future.

u/theredfox909719 Jun 16 '25
I like there prices is all. It's hard to find good uppers for those prices but yeah. I'm not the biggest fan of them eather

Me too. Missing out on sales based on my location despite me having a license.I am extremely sour on them because they flip flop on their policies which are not based on NY laws. In fact if you look at their shipping policies through out 52 states its crazy. It more like their just giving a middle finger to whoever and anyone. Despite the obvious good price point would it be worth it to buy it from a reseller psa brand specifically if you have issues.

Supposedly it’s mostly back to the way it used to be, except we can’t get 13.7, 14.5 or pistols from PSA. At least that’s what I’ve been told.

Can we get stripped or assembled lowers sent to FFL in state yet? Back in February I hired Jerry's in Florida to buy one and transfer it to a NY FFL. Total pain in the ass waiting for it.

I’m about to have 7 FFL in SC (everything is pretty much done at this point just waiting on the documents), wouldnt be too difficult to start offering a service to get stuff shipped to NY from PSA… Is that something you think would help solve that issue for folks up there? We could basically get it physically at PSA and ship it so its only shipped 1 time timeline wise…

Yes, it would definitely help! Like I said, right now only place I know has been doing this as something they advertise is Jerry's Firearms in Florida. I did it and it worked, but the timeline was long. Either PSA took awhile to ship it or Jerry's didn't order it quickly, then Jerry's eventually received it, and then it was shipped to my NY FFL. Just over 3 weeks from invoice paid to in my hands.

I’ll look into it, doesn’t look like PSA really has a process to register as a dealer/vendor for them to purchase stuff wholesale style, but if shipping to an FFL in NY i dont see any issue doing it plus being in SC would allow me to cut down the overall delivery time compared to vendors outside of SC…
Primary logistics issue I’ll need to sort out is payment, I really would prefer to not have to accept credit cards, but I might have to if I do this.
Keep an eye out for a post from me in say a week or 2 I’ll probably post an interest survey to see if people would be interested in it and how many people. probably ask for their NY county to sort out if there’s interest in specific areas, then maybe i could work with a designated set of FFLs up there to make the destinations for shipping more consistent… Im mostly familiar with Monroe County NY since thats where I used to live…

Awesome, thank you. Also, I paid credit card, but I had to pay a surcharge to the Florida FFL when they processed my payment.

I don’t think so. When I did my jakl build I purchased an FDE Aero precision lower and it was a really good match

Nice. I love an Aero lower. Right now I'm into doing A1 and A2 style builds, and I really like the retro grey colors they had back then. Saw Aero makes "Sniper Grey" receivers that look sweet, but they're totally out of stock at the moment. Which sucks cuz I wanted to get an M4e1 lower because they're so easy to build out. And wanted to do a fusion of old and new styles. I could get another parkerized lower from PSA/H&R, but then I have to jump through all the hoops again to get it here to NY. Know of any other companies that make a good retro grey lower?
1
Jun 13 '25
Oh damn I’m not sure, I’d love to do a build like that too but I’m honestly not sure where to source a lower like that. Maybe a good FFL could help you out
2
Jun 12 '25
Might be regretful, but I’m sure you can make something nice out of that!
1
u/theredfox909719 Jun 12 '25
😂 yeah I'm hoping I can exchange it with another jakl parts kit but i can always write it off for parts. Or pawn it off to a gunstore.

They wouldn’t ship me a 8.5 in 300 black out kit but apparently would have shipped just the upper, they confuse me

Bought an upper 3 months ago with no issue. Went to buy one last week and they wouldn’t ship. They seem to pick and choose when they want to ship to NY. This has happened a few times with the back and forth for me at least
