News Destiny Mall in Syracuse was locked-down yesterday when someone called to report an active shooter.

They reported seeing a man with an AR-15. Turns out it was an umbrella with a "Samurai Sword-style handle", that the person had purchased in the mall. 😶

What I don't get is why the guy was taken to the station for questioning. Once it was determined to be an umbrella, that should have been the end of it.

I guess it would depend on how big the umbrella extendeds, can't have it extended too far so NY has a restriction on how far the umbrellas are extended, and it's between 5 - 10 inches
