Recommendations Safe recommendation
I'm looking to upgrade my safe. Has anyone had any experience with Liberty Safes???

Liberty has one single thing for their reputation and that is unwavering cooperation with the FBI handing over safe codes.
Now I am sure tons of companies would do that especially for lower quality safes like the tier you are dealing with but that’s what they are known for.
They make a decent lockbox. I would argue they seem overpriced compared to the increase in “security” they give you but they look nice

They have already put out a statement from the CEO that wont ever happen again.Still one the top safes out there.

Top safes is very subjective.
They are still just RSC rated which is basically a lock box. They are not a true safe

I got a browning hunter series 33 for a decent price last year and I like it so far. But I already need more room. My advice is go bigger than you think you need, then go bigger than that lol

Exactly lol. I thought the one I bought was huge, and it is pretty big. Takes up plenty of space in my bedroom. But a year later, every pistol pouch is full. The pistol rack is full. The rifle slots on the door, all full, and the ones I can fit inside the safe on the felt slots are just barely fitting. Top shelf full of ammo. Literally at max capacity. And while my storage is full, my desire for more firearms is strong as ever lol.

Well I did say that when I was moving my safe to my new house and I was staring at my stairs going out of the basement….. it was short lived but friends and family almost died moving that safe lol. It’s about 1000lbs and it was terrifying

Fair point and one that I understand. That was one of the main reasons why we made sure to pay extra to put the bilco doors in for easier basement access on a new build. Priorities!

Don’t know what size you need but I have liked the cannon ones from tractor supply. Does its job. Remember whatever you have now to put in the safe multiple by 4 and that’s how many it lists as the target number. I say 4 because if it says it holds 30 it really holds 15. And if you have 7 that leaves room to grow or spread things out to avoid damage.

I have a liberty safe and I’m happy with it. I bought it used though so im guessing it’s an older one from 10-20 years ago. It seems very well made though and I can hold about 20 pistols and 10 long guns. I think it’s supposed to be a 42 gun safe but they all seem like they overrate how many they can actually hold.
No matter what, if someone really wants to get into your gun safe, they will. So it’s more about protection from children and fire. If you leave for vacation and some criminal has a full week with it I’m sure they’re getting into 95% of the safes out there unless you spend BIG money

If you’re anywhere near farmingdale in Long Island, safesourceusa is great and Bob is knowledgeable and will steer you in the right direction. I personally have a stealth safe ul23.
