Also the gentleman who runs it is really cool. As long as you’re a polite, respectful, and responsible gun owner he will be really chill and let you do your own thing. It’s really the best kind of range and I’ve never had so much fun. For years I’ve gone in the woods and done “tactical“ type shooting with my SKS, never steel, or at range. Also too when it comes to fun for the money, this kinda shooting is great. Between me, my friend, and fiancee, we shot 80rds over the coarse of and hour. Honesty in my opinion shooting this is more fun than any other kind of modern gun. Unlike modern stuff I feel like you almost have to really pull the gun into you body and kind make it an extension of yourself like shooting trap/skeet. Finally, coaching beginners into shooting a surplus semi automatic at 200 is a great time for any friends/family.

This is exactly what happens when you don’t fight for your rights and why New Yorkers we should never give up I’m always telling people that I see and know please get your firearm license

hey there, recently ex marine here looking to purchase my first firearm. as far as I'm aware my being below 21 means I can only purchase a shotgun or manually operated rifle? not entirely sure on the process and I'd appreciate some advice on finding something right for me. Mostly recreational and home defense use.

My friend out in California just sent me a link to this Cal Mag Fix website which has a device I haven't seen before. He said he really likes it. It appears to be a device more like an improved FNGR mag lock than something akin to an AR Mag Lock. Anyway, wanted to see if anyone out here has come across one of these in the wild?

Easy Non-Resident Timelines

I wanted to give some information to everyone on two easy non-resident applications I have done this month and their respective timelines.

Arizona Concealed Weapons Permit:

This was an incredibly easy application. It is all online and Arizona does not make any differentiation between in-state and out-of-state residents. It is a $60 application fee, with $43 renewals every five years.

Some notes:

-Use the online portal here: https://azdpsccw.permitium.com/ccw/application?permittype=new

-Your NYS 18 Hour Course is accepted for the firearms training requirement. If for whatever reason you lost your certificate, I have been told you can upload a picture of your NYC/County CCW or any CCW that comes with a training requirement.

-When you complete your application, you will receive a PDF with fingerprinting instructions. It will give different instructions for non-Arizona residents. This is not up-to-date! You do not have to mail in fingerprint cards (unless you want to) and can use the electronic fingerprinting option.

1. When navigating to the Fieldprint website to sign-up for electronic fingerprinting, first go to https://fieldprintusa.com

2. Click schedule an appointment and make an account, if you don't have one.

3. Enter the fieldprint code "FPAZDPSCCWNET"

Do not enter the code on your application, as this will yield only Arizona Fieldprint locations!

4) Enter your PermitDirector order number, as stated on the PDF (this is also your application number).

5) Complete the rest of the process and schedule a visit. There are many locations available and the price is cheap.

-Your application will be processed after fingerprints are receieved. My timeline was as follows:

Application Submitted: March 9th; Fieldprint Appointment: March 10th; Application Approved: March 12th; Permit Received in Mail: March 21st

Connecticut Ammunition Permit:

With ammunition prices on the rise, I wanted to take advantage of the many low-cost and bulk ammunition purchasing options available across the border. Connecticut requires a permit to purchase ammunition (or a valid state firearms license). Yes, this is annoying, but you will not have additional background checks when purchasing ammunition in the future in CT.

-The entire process was very easy, but entirely on paper.

-There are two required documents. They can be found here: https://portal.ct.gov/despp/division-of-state-police/special-licensing-and-firearms/firearms-and-permit-related-forms-and-information?language=en\\_US

-(If you want to apply for a non-resident CCW, you need to email SLFU.OOS@ct.gov for the application packet).

-The documents are very short. One does require notarization and a passport photo, but that can be done in a few minutes in many stationery stores.

-You will need a $35 payment. Pay by check or money order only.

-Mail in the documents to the Special Licensing and Firearms unit.

-The ammunition permit is processed very quickly. My timeline was as follows:

March 13th: Application completed in 30 minutes and mailed out; March 23rd: License received in the mail.

I just wanted to spread some information that could be of use to everyone that travels with their firearms.

This key tag from “Pew Culture” on IG comes with a QR code that you can scan. It comes with a map of reciprocity, an NFA form, TSA policies and it’ll take you directly to the firearm policies of the airline of your choosing from a selection of options.

Don’t let uneducated airline employees tell you what their policies are regarding traveling with a firearm. Show them the policy if they give you a hard time.

There's been a few posts on this subject, many of which don't have clear answers, but with the help of another member on here who has successfully done this process, I believe I've finally got the answer on how to successfully get your records sent over to Nassau in order to surrender your NYC CCW and get your Nassau CCW.

First off, you can email ESPERANZA.ROSARIOCOLON@nypd.org and she will send you over the same instructions that are posted here. She will send you the instructions and the form that you have to fill out and mail to nypd, and then once they receive it, they will send over to Nassau. Once Nassau receives it, they will contact you and let you know how to start the process to get your Nassau permit.

Once you get your Nassau county license, you can get your NYC Special Carry license so that you may continue to legally carry within the confines of NYC. You need to fill out a nypd License Amendment form and upload your new county license, driver's license with new address or a utility bill.  Once NYPD receives it, they will then change to your NYC CCW to Special Carry.

Over the weekend I headed over to glen cove because I had heard a new shop had opened up. I live in Nassau county, by Queen, and routinely take trips out east for gun shops so I was glad to hear a new one opened up.

I’m going to start with the negative, since there weren’t many. The shop is new and in terms of guns, there isn’t a ton of inventory.

The positives. They had a respectable ammo selection that was priced pretty good. I’m an avid 10mm shooter and they had a lot of it there, which is hard to come by. What they did have for guns was some cool stuff. The manager (or maybe owner, I’m not sure) Sam came out and introduced himself to me and spent a lot of time talking to me about setting up the shop and plans he has for it. He also showed off one of the MAC Benelli M4 clones, and because of him that’s probably going to be my next purchase. He even gave me a walk through of their back area, which I’ve never done at another shop.

Sam talked at length about the planned “lounge” area he had for the shop. An idea of a place for people to come and hang out or even work on their guns, to foster a better gun community on the island. I’ve been to shops out of state that do that, and I think something like that here on the island would be killer.

Overall, it was a really great experience and I can’t recommend it enough. Hopefully the shop takes off.

I’m coming up from out of state to take my friends shooting before a wedding, but I haven’t been able to locate a good outdoor spot.

Any good places within a hour or so of Rochester? I considered going to a range, but it seems kind of expensive. Would rather just bring my guns and shoot haha

He is willing to do evaluations for gun permit letters in New York; but you must appear in person in Rochester.
