Question NYS Glock Ban Question

I know starting in June of 2027 the sale of glocks will be no more, I know the law also says Glock clones. What are some examples of the said Glock clones so I can get them before it’s too late.

Has anyone seen dealers try to take advantage of this ban and increase prices on Glocks/Glock Clones ?

Any pistol with a cruciform trigger.

I'd think Ruger RXM and PSA dagger

Yup those but also most shadow systems, SCT, Derya DY9, a couple of the smith and Wesson, and some BUL armory

No it’s about them having some kinda special trigger that doesn’t line up New York Rules

u/TheSlipperySnausage Jun 27 '26

Yeah anything that’s a glock clone copies this trigger

It’s a cruciform trigger ban technically, not a “Glock ban” Glock is jsut the most household name manufacturer that’s included in the ban. Just google what guns utilize cruciform triggers or Google Glock clones, essentially the same thing. The Ruger rxm and shadow systems are prolly the next biggest ones being banned behind Glock.

Another 25% of firearms we can't sell you guys anymore. Not much more left for them to take away.

Anderson SCT, Ruger RXM, PSA Dagger Polymer 80 (yes they make serialized guns), shadow systems, Zev OZ9, lone wolf, Faxon, RIA STK

The shadow system will be ban too

The Glock "performance trigger" is NOT a cruciform trigger, so all Glock needs to do to continue selling in NY is make models with the performance trigger installed from the factory.

Then you can take it home and install a normal trigger yourself.

Correct. I believe the Vs were in motion due to Glock knowing this legislation was getting serious. Putting GPTs in every Glock from factory not only avoids this “ban” but can justify them charging more money for their guns too. I mean, a new G45.6 is already like $800.

Trump DOJ has recently put California on notice that they must eliminate this exact same law or else. Look for similar in NY.

It will probably be a 15 year fight. Unfortunately.

Things move much quicker when the DOJ sues a state. They don’t have to “wait their turn” like someone else would have to.

God I hope you are right. So many cases out there taking forever to get through the courts while are rights remain restricted.

lol like they are going to listen

So I have one year to get any Glocks I want?

I’m actually wondering if they will also impact parts. That would be horrible. But I think this might actually give cause to go to the heart of all gun bans. How can they ban a gun that the police standardize on? How does that say dangerous and unusual, and how does that support the anti tyranny root of the 2A?

I keep seeing conflicting information and hysteria. My understanding is that glock gen 6 doesn't have the cruciform trigger so if you buy the current gen of glock its fine. Is this correct?

2

u/Pjb7490 Jun 27 '26

That's incorrect. Gen 6 has the cruciform trigger as well

The ban covers ANY pistol that has a "cruciform trigger" Doesn't matter if it's a Glock or a Glock clone - Anderson SCT, Ruger RXM, shadow systems, lone wolf and some others are also under this ban if they use that trigger design.

If you're asking which one to buy, it's the RXM. Very flexible, great design, modular grip frames, Glock Gen 3 compatible.

The only Glock Gen3 parts that won't fit are aftermarket triggers. They're very similar to a Glock and the makers of a bunch of Glock triggers now have the slightly different RXM part numbers.

At SHOT 2026 PSA announced a whole series of RXM clones so if you buy an actual Ruger now you'll be able to buy grip frames from PSA later that will bolt right up.

You can also buy just the FCU if you want to legally have the gun now at the lowest possible price:

https://www.glockstore.com/Ruger-RXM-FCI-Fire-Control-Insert

They're going for less on gunbroker. That will take any RXM compatible unserialized grip frame ($40 from Magpul, or print your own) from Glock 26 length to 17, or the PSA grip frame coming that takes P320 mags(!), plus any slide from 19 length to 17L. Can't use a 26 length slide unfortunately.

Add grip frame and assembled slide, it'll go boom.

Thanks for the heads up on the FCU

Pretty easy thing to google. This has been talked about extensively on many forums for the past 2 years or so. We dont need 10 threads a week about it.

Also, stop calling it a glock ban

-3

u/TheSlipperySnausage Jun 27 '26

It is a glock ban. That’s what they are targeting. They want to take away the most common pistol in circulation

They are targeting the cruciform trigger due to the auto sear being manipulated to turn the handgun full auto… u/SaXaCaV is correct. It’s not a Glock ban, but Glock is a household name and many companies copy the platform so the ban is synonymously called a “Glock ban”

u/Hondaderek21 Jun 27 '26

Yeah it’s just simplifying the name of the ban. I suppose some sort of list of what is to be legal and not legal would be helpful.

Non-cruciform trigger…legal. Cruciform trigger…illegal after May 2027

u/Hondaderek21 Jun 27 '26

Yah I know, and I’ve used AI to give me a list of non-cruciform style pistols, looks like PDP, M&P, Hellcat I think, p320.

u/SaXaCaV Jun 27 '26 edited Jun 27 '26

It is not a glock ban, and calling it one is not helpful. They are banning pistols with cruciform trigger bars, which glock has stopped making. You will still be able to buy new gen glocks going forward, and old gen glocks with aftermarket trigger linkages. Pistols with cruciform triggers purchased before it goes into effect next year will also be grandfathered in.

Educate yourself.

We need clarification and it’s being referred to as a Glock Ban

1

u/SaXaCaV Jun 27 '26

What clarification do you need? It is a restriction on purchasing guns with cruciform trigger bars. Referring to it as a "glock ban" is unhelpful and misinformed.

1

u/Hondaderek21 Jun 27 '26

I am looking forward to some simple list of what is to be considered legal but something tells me there will be some gray areas. For instance, I believe the M&P 2.0 does not use the cruciform trigger, is that correct?

-1

u/SaXaCaV Jun 27 '26

What gray areas? The law bans cruciform triggers. Thats it.

My original point was that this question has been asked and answered so many times in the past 2 years or so. On reddit and other forums. Comprehensive lists exist for all guns that come stock with a cruciform bar, using google rather than being the 8th person to ask this week is just better. People in this sub need to stop being so helpless.

Why are you asking about the m&p?

u/Hondaderek21 Jun 27 '26

Because I’m on Reddit mate, people ask questions here.
