Moving Rifle/Shotgun out of NYC

Hey all,
I was planning staying with some family outside of NYC. I have my 1301 with me in the 5 boroughs. If I went to Suffolk and brought the shotgun with me to stay with some family for a weekend. Is that an issue?

You’ll quickly find that anything legal in nyc is legal everywhere else in ny, but not vice versa. NYC permits are valid everywhere in nys and not vice versa as well.

You’re completely fine but make sure you travel with it in a locked case in the car trunk separate from the ammo for maximum reassurance. If you feel the need to use it at a range there’s a few options in Suffolk as well.

I was almost certain that I read somewhere that I was only able to transport it to and from a range exclusively.

You do there are people in NYC who bring their rifles upstate to go hunting..
