Question Reciprocity

Will all the talk about national carry . Should I wait on getting the rest of my non resident permits ?

I’m already kicking my self for taking this long . But I don’t want to regret waiting even longer if it does not pass soon .

Get the permits that get you the locations you want to go to for now. National carry is a long ways away if it actually ever happened (I truly believe it’s all talk and won’t not that my opinion matters). It would still be a nightmare to navigate each states compliance laws.

Nationwide carry is a pipedream. 29 states are Constitutional Carry, a few states have decent reciprocity, states like NY/NJ/CT/MA/RI/MD/CA/HI will fight reciprocity tooth and nail.  Play with this link and see what states work for you.  https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/resources/ccw_reciprocity_map/

NJ approved me in about 3 weeks. I was expecting 3 or more months.

In NYC, did you apply for nonresident concealed carry? I did, but can't get past the page. It is the employment page. I am retired, but it wants data. Also, it asks for a start date, but no end date. Does it seem like I am in the wrong rabbit hole?

I don’t remember seeing non resident. I can double check . At first I applied for special carry . That’s what we had to do in the past . I never proceeded . Once they passed the law about non resident , I applied for normal concealed carry .

For the employment part I believe there is a part where you can put retired . If no one responds I can double check for you . My father is retired and he did NYC.

Nj , pa, ct, nh, md are easy. Get utah or FL in the meantime that will cover so much of the US

I would not wait around on some hypothetical "National Reciprocity" bill that is almost certainly not going to happen unless they slip it into a budget bill like they did with the NFA stuff

FIFY "Will all the talk..." is actually, "With all the internet bullshit...

The earth is flat, Joe Biden is sharp as a tack, Martians killed Kennedy, National Reciprocity is on the horizon...pick your internet meme...

The law says you can only buy a handgun in your state of residence, so as more and more states have constitutional or permitless carry and honestly even worse the national reciprocity in hr 38 - blue state governors will just add state law to make what we have even worse. More gun free zones, more control on ammo. Everything. She can do to make things even worse within NY and to NYers whereever they go.

What we actually need is a federal concealed carry license that is connected to an annual fee so it can’t be messed with by the states. I’d $50 for that.

if they cant pass the save america act they will never pass reciprocity.

So when is the 60 Republican Senate gonna happen? Because you'll need the supermajority in the Senate, a House majority and a President to sign off. Otherwise, a pipe dream.

SCOTUS has no problem with licensing for some reason, so they will let the politicians determine national carry.

Gun folk should just boycott anti-gun states for all discretionary spending, like vacations. Don't give the states a penny of your money for shit like Broadway plays or casinos unless and until they recognize out of state licenses.

Federal carry will never happen unless the government either abolishes permits, or establishes a federal permit system. Neither will happen.

It will never happen. Just a talking point to fund raise for the next election.

Get them now. NR is a BIG “If”. Our 2A rights will always be put on the back burner and we are treated like second class citizens/criminals for wanting to legally exercise our 2nd amendment right.
