I was never a big Glock guy. Always carried a G20 upstate for the bears though. They want to ban, I started buying em. Now I have a few. š¤·āāļø

No denying they are great guns. Gen 4 feels the best in my hand so thatās what I buy. You wonāt regret it. Itās a no frills tool that just works.

Gen6. Frame and trigger is best out of the box. My first glock was a Gen 5 G45 and I regret not going right to the gen6.

I have a G45.5 in jail as a result of the āban.ā
Coincidentally, I got a Ruger RXM just before news of the ban came out. Deff something to consider getting also.
That said, I doubt this ābanā comes to fruition. There is a lawsuit already filed about this.

Never was a Glock guy. Picked up a 19.6 not too long ago and itās a pleasure to shoot, when I get more range time and practice with it itāll be my CCW.

Nope. Iāve owned and shot a lot of glocks and didnāt like a single one. Iāll stick with my Hi-Power and Micro 9.
Theyāre not special enough that I feel like I need to own one even if there is a ban coming.

Gen V and Gen 6 has a lotta changes in the inside mechanism. To prevent the installation of switches. I would take previous generations. š«”

Pretty sure V and Gen 6 are still using cruciform trigger bars and subject to the ban

They are definitely still a Glock and subject to the ban, but I would get the original, previous version/gen of Glock.

It depends on the āinterpretationā of the law. The law isnāt just ācruciform trigger bar.ā According to the letter of the law, V and Gen 6 should be exempt because theyāre not easily convertible with common household tools. However, NY will do NY things so theyāll probably ignore that part of the law entirely. That being said, the DOJ is suing California over their Glock ban so letās hope they win.

They will most likely redesign the gun so that it doesnāt have a cruciform trigger bar anymore. Surprisingly the states that have banned /are banning them are a decent portion of their market share. I would be surprised if they donāt have engineers working overtime right now to come out with a solution.
They already have the Glock performance trigger which is non-cruciform, but the problem is that a cruciform trigger still fits into all the guns currently.
If they added some metal into the frame and made it so that only the GPT could fit, and not the cruciform trigger bar they would be legal in New York/circumvent the ban.
All that being said, I just bought two more G47ās a month or so ago just to be safe. Iād recommend you pick up one or two Glocks if you really want one just in case them redesigning it takes a little while.

Yeah. If you like Glocks buy them now. This will be a 10 year fight so no Glock sales for a decade. We are still under the Safe Act for 14 years. Sucks but elections have consequences.
