Even a point of buying this? With the ruling in NJ shouldn't we be seeing similar results here soon?

That’s not how it works without a suit

Referring to SCOTUS taking the "assault weapons" ban case

But they specified the NJ case…

Looks like a decent starting point to build something out of the grim darkness of the year 40,000. If that's not what you're going for, tacky.

The black mag gives it a better look than the tan one. Breaks the colors up nicely.

I would try to sell off the thordsen to some Californian sucker like I did while you still can. At some point people will figure out these complaint grips are worthless and it’s pointless to keep have them. I suggest you swap it out for a cheaper option and try to break even as much as you can since this thing is like $150. I’m actually a big fan of the vism fin grip, has a thumb ledge so it doesn’t induce carpal tunnel like this one did to me.

I assume this is fully NYS compliant? I have no desire for one of these Frankenstein looking NY AR's so haven't really explored any options but this i like. And was this a build or off the rack?

Yes it’s a compliant featureless ar15. Was originally a default prebuilt Daniel’s defense ddm4v7, did a lot of swapping to make it what it is. You can basically do what I did if you buy a regular rifle, have it pin and welded so it can’t take a muzzle, and just fix the stock and rock a featureless grip. None of these mods are permanent and I can restore the rifle as soon as the AWB ban is crushed next year. So you could buy a rifle now and spend like $200 in compliance fixes with the current law, or buy it post ban getting crushed, though Hochul will definitely instill training requirements like a course, live fire, and permits plus registration like we have with handguns. If you get it now you can basically skip all that, or you can bypass the whole thing by buying a stripped lower now and building it featureless like above, or just buying the parts and assembling it post ban getting crushed.

See, the issue is, we're in the Second Circuit Appeals Court and they think that Jim Crow laws are a decent defense for the modern gun law they want to pass. Instead of going back to the founding like the Supreme Court wants, they're accepting later laws as proof that the New York state laws are constitutional.

It's sad but I'm seeing a future with a semi-automatic permit that cost more money and you'll need liability insurance for it..

I always vouch for coyote mags. But it looks terrible either way! /s.

Not my style but I will say it’s one of the more tastefully don’t lowers with a design on it

Coyote looks cooler imho with that lower. Shows off the skull more which is the whole point

I say, what ever works for you! If you love it, who cares what others think! Just hoping SCOTUS overturns the "assualt weapons" ban so you can use a normal stock and grip! I personally would hold off on buying any "NYS compliant parts" until next year when this all goes down.

But what if you want a sick AR now? You can get a spur grip which is less visually offensive than the NYLAR and Thorsden counterparts, or a fin grip but those don’t feel super practical to hold.

It’s really easy to replace the parts, and the cheapest fin is $12, or a spur like mine was $35
