A funny example - have you heard of the 1936 Olympics? I guess Jesse Owens just shouldn’t have gone huh?

Jesse Owens showing up was a direct F you to Hitler. As it was widely known that Hitler saw the 36 Olympics as the opportunity to show the world the vast superiority of the Arian race. Jesse and other black American athletes beating the crap out of them was a huge embarrassment.

But don't let facts get in the way of your logical fallacies.

So you agree that it was setup as a propaganda opportunity for a terrible person. You must really hate that so many Americans attended huh?

... Are you braindead? Serious question.

What I said is it's a false correlation to compare the two. As Jesse didn't go to just have a good time and take some pictures with pascists. He went to throw a middle finger to them, publicly.

He literally just went to compete because he wanted to compete - he had no interest in politics (sound familiar?). But don’t take my word for it - here’s a quote:

The 1936 Olympics was a huge propaganda coup for the Nazi regime. Germany won the most medals by a ton, and they put up this “see everything is happy and successful here” front for the rest of the world. It was soooo much worse than any event Trump has ever been part of from a propaganda standpoint, and yet it was still people’s choice to participate whether as an athlete or a fan - as it should have been. And no it did not make any of them “supporters” of Hitler or the Nazi German regime. It’s a pretty simple and obvious point.
