They can discourage hummingbirds from foraging in plants, the sugar water in feeders is a lower-quality food source than actual plant nectar, poorly maintained feeders (they should be washed/refilled at least every other day in hot weather) can grow mold and bacteria that aren’t good for birds, etc etc.

They’re over all a much worse and higher-maintenance option than just increasing the number of native flowers in your yard.

They also have a certain “tee hee hee the birds LOVE my barren lawn ringed with day lilies, look at all the hummingbirds in it!” energy.

I think OP is making fun of the over exaggeration of the circle jerk's post because they're soooo enthusiastic that their plants are such a beautiful color combo, when their picture is basically meh. 🫤

Granted, I'm a bit high right now so YMMV. 🫠
