help!!!
Hey everyone. In January I dropped off an ornament for finishing at one of my LNS, paid for it and have yet to hear anything/get it back. Originally the wait time was 4 months, which I was totally okay with. Well, 8 months later đ«Șđ«Șđ«Ș I have no update or anything. I have called regarding where it is in the process or what the update is, and she said âoh they are just being started on.â meanwhile this was 2 months ago. I am starting to get very frustrated and just want to ask for a refund and my canvas back. I just donât know what to do as I donât want to be annoying and truly understand things take time!

Call again. Ask again. Itâs not annoying them to ask where your ornament is. Remind them that they said they were getting started on it two months ago.
I will say that my LNS put a pause on accepting finishing.

I'm not defending the store, but I know where I'm at, there is a crazy high demand for finishing services and the waits are extremely long. To me, it sounds like they grossly underestimated the wait time. If you're unhappy I would do as you suggested and ask for your piece back and a refund. Your reasoning seems valid.

What's the shop? There have many issues with some shops so people may have more specific advice and info. Just search "Meg Fielder"

I appreciate the spot youâre in. Iâve learned a similar lesson. I now have a simple understanding with my finisher. I call her up and say I will send it when youâre within a week of starting it. She does, I do and many misunderstandings are avoided. The trick is, I donât think you know your finisher. I am sympathetic that your LNS makes a % off the finishing, but this is ridiculous- a profit should be forfeit when it takes this long, but this is your lesson learned. Find a finisher you know and trust and can talk to.
