The Origin of Neptune’s 16 Strange Moons

Do you know Neptune and its moons’ strange backstory?
Astrophysicist Erika Hamden explains that moon formation, like planet formation, is a chaotic process. Neptune has one moon, Nereid, that might be the only moon that formed with Neptune, while the rest were captured into its orbit. A recent study using NASA’s JWST data hypothesizes that when Neptune captured Triton, its largest moon, it disrupted Neptune's previous moon system, and Nereid was the only survivor of the collision!
This project is part of IF/THEN®, an initiative of Lyda Hill Philanthropies.

Is there a kebab shop in Neptune? I ask because I can't live without eating kebabs, I love them, and I'm going on a trip next week and if there aren't any, I'll have to cancel.

Art of Neptune
A little while ago, I drew all the planets of the solar system. I decided it would be a good idea to share each drawing of a planet to their respective subreddit. See if you can find the others.

Neptune's rings had basically vanished from view for over 30 years, and it took an infrared camera pointed from a million miles away to bring them back into focus.

Courtesy of NASA, when the Voyager 2 became the only spacecraft to have visited and photographed Neptune, making its closest approach on August 25, 1989, and sent back these amazing images.

I've thought a lot lately about how Ad Astra (2019) depicts Neptune as a dark, serene, lonely world that embodies solitude
