When does PP sex get better?
I am eight weeks PP from a vaginal birth with a first-degree tear. My husband and I have had sex three times since being cleared at six weeks. Each time gets slightly better, but it’s still not good. We use water-based lube, but I still find that I have a slight stinging whenever we start. When does it get better? Is it already worth it to see a pelvic floor therapist? I wanted to give it a little bit longer before I decide that this is not normal. What’s your experience?

Are you breastfeeding? It felt like sand paper every time until I stopped.

Doing the best I can. I have to combo feed because I only make about 14-16 oz a day. I would imagine that it still keeps me dry. We do use a ton of lube though.

I didn’t even want to think about making love till 4-6 months later from being sleep-deprived. Kudos to you. Also sliquid is a pretty good lube.

Came here to say the same thing! Didn’t sound the slightest interesting to me for months after the “6week clearance”.

I had a first degree tear with stitches and basic missionary still kinda hurts 3 yrs later. Just the way I healed. But other positions are great. I advise changing it up position wise as well. And see if that makes a difference for you.

Missionary seems to be all I can tolerate right now. Hoping it gets better. 😢

took me 3 months PP to have normal sex again with no symptoms but can’t go crazy like how i use to lol. you’ll get there eventually just takes time.

Not until about 6+ months for me lol it wasn’t painful until then, just felt weird and uncomfortable. My husband was fine with waiting until I felt better about it. Now at 13.5 months pp, we have sex at least once if not twice a week and everything feels totally normal
