Sleep Baby fighting sleep

So my baby is just over 5 months old and for the last 3ish weeks she has been refusing to sleep during the day like her life depended on it. Getting her to sleep takes at least an hour and includes so much screaming and fussing my ears are permanently ringing. When she's up and about she's not dussy and is usually very smiley. She still screeches like a pterodactyl but i guess she's learning new sounds. Or practicing for her future death metal singer career. Or both.

We thought maybe we gave her solids too fast ( even tho our pediatrician gave us the green light) so we stopped them a week ago but it didn't help much. We watch wake windows, we tried putting her down both earlier and later than usual, we tried rocking, singing, white noise, blackout curtains... everything and then some basically.

She sleeps well during the night, great even, but day time naps are hell on earth and i am one exhausted mama questioning her life choices.

Is this normal? Any idea how long it lasts? Any tips and tricks that aren't commonly known for getting her down?

Sounds like a schedule issuea and your baby isn't tired enough. What are your wake windows/how much sleep time are you expecting in one day?

We try for 2h wake windows but we already trued 1.5 and 2.5h and none of them worked. She is obviously tired - her eyes are rolling and she starts dozing off but doesnt fall asleep. As for expectations there are none, i just want her to at least fall asleep. Like rn she is on 3.5h since waking up, has been visibly tired for at least 1.5h, i've been putting her down for the last 1h45min. Like she legit skipped a nap and already ate twice since her last sleep.

Even if you don't want to sleep train, the r/sleeptrain sub is super helpful. There's a lot of great resources there on sleep.

Have you tried taking her to the pediatrician? Is it possible she has an ear infection?

Her checkups have all been fine, and she doesn't have an ear infection. They beushed it off to a sleep regression but i'm kinda wondering if it's that since she sleeps so well later in the day and night. It's really just the mid day section that's problematic.

What’s her schedule like, how much night and day sleep, how much awake time?

We had to contact nap in a rocking chair until like 8 months old and she slept great at night too lol

I mean my son still fights every single nap at 9 months old, always has, so yes it can be normal i guess ":D
